Leadership is very poor. There is no vision and no true articulation of mission and objectives. Site leadership micromanaged petty details like someone arriving a few minutes late but does not build relationships with teachers so their strengths can be known and utilized effectively and areas that are weaker can be developed. Site leadership actually suspends teachers for days for missing a deadline or for saying something slightly politically incorrect to students, instead of addressing it in a problem solving manner. Despite the fact that 99.9% of the students are English Language Learners, staff are given no training in how to collaborate and Co plan with an ELL teacher and admin completely ignores them and the strengths they may bring to a , frankly failing school. The teachers are the most important resource, and it looks like Admin. will figure it out only when they realize that their lack of relationship building and support for teachers will leave them with very few returning next year. EA'S will be illegally teaching even more classes than currently. The principal is punitive and out of touch with educational pedagogy, especially when it comes to English Learners. He would be better suited to work as a supervisor at a fast food chain. The Director is playing fast and loose with his own community's children and their futures. It would be hard to imagine a school with lower achievement and worse behavior. This is due to incompetent and careless admin, not teachers. They should suspend themselves. What a shame.
Oh my goodness. What a mess! Terrible situation and very high turnover of staff. Very low expectations for achievement and behavior. Somali students only. No diversity. Some physical danger to students and staff.
