This school used to be one of the best, and is now to the point were I am considering other options for my child. All of the acedemically challenging classes have been cut; science fair etc., retiring teachers have not been replaced due to "budget issues", but sports teams have been added. Teachers, with a few exceptions, are apathetic at best. Students who want to be challenged are held back because it might upset the students who don't do as well.
I have had 3 children attend Sherburn Elementary. My childred all have very different personalities and it seems that they were able to have teachers that could handle that. They were not ever compared to the previous sibling as far as behavior or academics. The teachers are open to visits with parents. Any problems are easily resolved between teacher, parent and principal.
