I truely love SLPHS especially the ELL courses, I can feel the care from my teachers. Class time went great, and teacher also respect the student. The Social Study teacher are wonderful, their teaching ways is interesting, and I actually learn a lots.

My son has never enjoyed school as much as he does this year at SLP. The students are generally respectful, and the teachers are excellent!

Classes are challenging and teachers care about how the student is doing. If at anytime a student's grade falls at or below a D then a progress report gets sent home. Also the whole school has so much school spirit it is a fun place to go to.

All of the AP classes push the students to do the best they can be. All of the teachers care about there students and make fair choices with homework. May not be the richest school around but the safety, teachers and students make up for that ten fold.

Stay involved. Communication between teacher and parents is very limited until it's too late. Even with notification to teachers and counselors that we wanted notification when something was going on with our child, this information was not given until it was too late. Their excuses ran from not enough teacher time, both parents were employed and they did not want to call us at work, they did not feel it warranted parent notification or in the case of a struggling student they suggested I take our son to Sylvan Learning Center, which at the time, I could not afford so I and they jepordized his education and the educational experience. I believe it is my position and the schools to offer my children the best start in their education, if I don't know they are faultering how can I help make an informed decision.
