Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

We are just wrapping up our 4 year at Adams Spanish Immersion Magnet Elementary School in St. Paul, MN. All the teachers at Adams are outstanding. The St. Paul school district places unpractical demands on them, but they persist and do a great job of teaching the kids. The Spanish language is the icing on the cake here. The education is excellent! This year Adams received new principals. Heidi Bernal is the head principal. Nancy Veverka. These 2 ladies are exceptional. This year has been the most delightful year we have had at Adams. It all starts at the top. And this team makes an excellent crown to the school. Our family lives outside of the district. That means we put extra effort in having our kids educated at Adams. We drive them to school and pick them up every day, rain or shine, or even snow. My 3rd grader LOVES to read in English AND Spanish. Right now she's reading "Little Women". If you want to give your child the gift of a 2nd language, Adams is the place to be. I'd do it all over again!

I love that my children are learning SPanish at such a young age, and as kids adopted from Latin America, I am grateful that they see more teachers and kids that look like them!

We wanted to continue the bilingual piece of our child's cognitive development to help him become a global citizen. We are pleased with his increasing vocabulary and willingness to speak in Spanish more and more.

The school is dedicated and passionate about its mission to teach Spanish. What better gift can you give your children than the ability to speak and learn in another language? I thank the teachers and staff for all they do and all the doors that they are opening up for the children who attend Adams!

It has been a gift - to give our kids the ability to communicate in another language and receive a high quality education in the process. It will open so many opportunities for them, and help them connect with others around the world!

The curriculum is well worth it, but requires work to be effective. It is challenging to kids to study in another language. The teachers are a diverse, as is the student body, and the openess to trying something different is refreshing. The intern program is great. Having native speakers come from different Spanish speaking countries adds to the authenticity of the cuuriculum and goals of the school.

Adams is an awesome school. The teachers and staff are excellent. Plus it gives our children a leg up by teaching them a very useful skill, speaking Spanish. Being Billingual is a very necessary skill needed in this day and age. Thanks to all the staff for being so dedicated.

This school has a long history of academic success in Saint Paul. A large number of students who emerge from Adams Spanish Immersion go on to continue their immersion studies at the junior and senior high programs. There are also many many students who go on to use their Spanish in their higher education and professional careers. The teachers are dedicated and knowledgeable about language learning as well as academic content and standards for students are high.

Adams is a wonderful school! It has extremely dedicated teachers, a principal who keeps the place humming beautifully, and students who are engaged and happy. My daughter said she'd give up her summer vacation if she could keep going to school because she loves it so much. How does a parent top that?

Judy, the principal, is one of the best leaders of the staff we've had. All the teachers are professional and care very much about the kids.

Dedication of staff to student education. We have 2 kids and one is gifted and talented and the other my need to move do to mild LD. The teachers have treated each child with respect and individual attention that each deserve. The PTO is a extremely active one that allows teachers to focus upon education and not as much on the lack of funds that ought to be afforded to education.

We (parents) are native Spanihs speakers, we love the fact that we have a school in which our children are able to write, speak and read in our native language and they become full bilingual. The teachers dedication and the interns from Spanish speaking countries make the instruction in the language a true immersion experience. Caring and loving staff and great volunteering force at Adams.

We love having our kids in Spanish Immersion, and feel like we are opening the world to them by giving them a second language. There is nothing more gratifying than hearing your 1st grader pick up a Spanish book (on his own, without me even telling him to!) for a long car ride, and then sound out the Spanish words for the next 30 minutes. We love our teachers and feel like not only are they helping them learn great academic skills in both Spanish and English, but they are making them better people, too. And we love the school community, too. Adams parents rock!

When our daughter started at Adams Spanish Immersion our goal was to have our child attend a good school with dedicated teachers that would prepare her well for junior high and also help our daughter become bilingual. Today, our daughter has completed her education at Adams and presently attends Highland Junior High, a continuation of the Spanish Immersion program. We had a great experience at Adams and we built long lasting relationships with the children and parents. We highly recommend this school to any child that wishes to learn Spanish.

Adams is a great school. Both our son and daughter had a challenging and engaging 7 years at Adams. Their Spanish is excellent, other academics above average, and school was never boring. Adams succeeds in creating a sense of 'familia' within the school and gradelevel that is rare in a large city. Students stay together and form lasting relationships that are carried into the junior and high school immersion programs. It has a diverse student body as well as teaching staff. My wife and I are teachers and know the district well. There are few other schools that could offer both the sense of belonging and the strong challenge that Adams has given our children. We strongly recommend it.

Adams is a great school, lots of warmth and caring there. We speak English at home, and it amazes me how much and how quickly my son picked up Spanish. He has especially enjoyed art class and the English classes that start in second grade. Parents are very involved in the school, always a good sign. Teachers are highly capable. I think it's quite a value to have my children get a free bilingual public education. There have been a few times I have not liked an approach or a decision the school made or my son has said something that left me concerned, but overall, I have been happy with Adams. The principal, asst. principal, and all teachers have always welcomed my comments--they are very open to input.

The desire to work from the teachers is incredible, but not all of them are fluent in Spanish. Many students adquire the same mistakes from their teachers who struggle in their writing and speaking of the language. The new principal is overwealmed dealing with the new school, or she has goals that are unknown to the staff members and parents. There is no support for the art. This year the music program was eliminated leaving the music talented students unatended. The administration also has difficulties dealing with the teacher's cultural diversity; and I mean different teaching styles, strategies, and different personalities. It is a wonderful concept having a Spanish Immersion school, but there should be principals prepared to deal with such a big project.

This is a great spanish immersion school. Teachers are supportive & stay well connected to the kids. They are fluent in spanish, represent many spanish speaking countries-not just Mexico,so there is a variety of accents and set great examples by using spanish with the kids and among themselves. My daughter is pretty fluent in spanish and I am constantly amazed when the words tumble out and she has real conversations with random people that we meet. Her comprehension is phenominal. Adams cemented her spanish language skills.
