Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Our daughter is in 2nd grade at Chelsea Heights and we are extremely happy with this school. The principal is amazing - no-nonsense, but incredibly nice and great with the kids. This is a St. Paul City school -- when we told friends we were moving here (from WI), everyone said "Go to the suburbs; the schools are better." Those schools only get higher scores because they are not diverse at all. We are a highly educated white family (husband is a physician, wife has two advanced degrees), so we REALLY care about our daughter's education. But we want her socially educated, not just academically educated -- Chelsea Heights gives her both. She is in an advanced reading "Book Club" and gets advanced math homework. She loves school and is excited to go everyday. The teachers at CH are warm, caring and patient. Our daughter has a diverse group of friends and is incredibly happy at CH. If you are moving to St. Paul and looking for a great school, you need to visit Chelsea Heights! The neighborhood is wonderful, too (we live one block from the school).

Chelsea Heights is a great school with caring staff, strong leadership , and a very involved community of parents, neighbors, and others. It offers science specialist, art, music, phy ed, and STEM as part of the regular curriculum all taught by professional in their fields. The principal is very caring, warm, and always happy to talk with parents and help. She knows each student and cares about their academic progress but also about their emotional and social health. The social worker is awesome, the school nurse is a great medical resource for anyone with questions about childhood illnesses and the special support team includes a speech therapist, EDL teacher, and other professionals that work with individual students to ensure that they are doing well.

We love Chelsea Heights! The teachers are dedicated, intelligent, and kind. They run their classes really well. The principal is fantastic (knows the names of all the students and brings them special birthday pencils on their birthday!), the full time nurse has helped us with both of our kids, and the specialists are great. Having NW Como Rec center attached means that between the school activities, new playground, and rec center activities, we have something to do every day! Great community and great school.

Chelsea Heights is an amazing school, surrounded by an amazing community. The principal is involved in all areas, and really listens to the teachers, students, and parents. The teachers go out of their way to assist in anyway they can. In addition to being exceptional educators, they give of their own time and talents to support the PTO/school community. We are quite lucky to have Chelsea in our neighborhood. Besides the school portion, having NW Como Rec Center attached means the kids have extracurricular activities at their hands. Chelsea really is the best!

This is a small neighborhood school in St. Paul. The school is diverse and has high academic standards. The teaching staff and principal get to know parents and students and are very responsive to concerns. I've sent two kids through this school and couldn't be happier!

Chelsea Heights is our neighborhood school. The teachers take pride in the students scholastic careers and provide each one with all of the tools needed to succeed. As a parent it is important that my son WANTS to be there, that he learns something new everyday and that he is safe. Very fortunate to know my child is in great hands and thriving!

Love Chelsea Heights! My kids are excited to go to school each day and the teachers and staff go out of their way to meet their needs. Dedicated parents and families who live in and care about the community make all the difference. We are so glad we chose this over private school .

We transfered to St. Paul schools last year and chose to attend our neighborhood school. We have been fortunate to have had great teachers both years. Pricipal and teachers have been very welcoming. Teachers genuinely care about students both academically and personally.

My wife and I looked at every school in St Paul and chose this one. The principal is great and always available, the teachers are amazing and my son LOVES going here. The entire staff has made us feel at home from day one. My son has numerous allergies and the school has a full time nurse that went out of her way to meet with us to ensure that she knows all about his allergies and reactions. We could not have asked for a better place for our son.

My daughter attends Chelsea Heights Elementary in St. Paul, MN. Chelsea Heights is an asset to our community! Chelsea Heights student population is diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, & family make-up. The staff strive to meet the educational needs of students through evidence-based teaching practices and in alignment with state standards. I m pleased to say that though the instruction and learning content has changed over time, the ability of the teacher and staff to enable enthusiasm for learning is still the same. I can say this because not only am I a parent, I m also a graduate of Chelsea Heights. We moved back into St. Paul this year to be closer to my job. I worried about the transition for my children because they were moving away from friends that they grew up with. Well, all my worries have melted away! EVERY day of this week, they have returned home with smiles. The list of activities that they do each day literally bubbles out of them. I have not seen my 6th grader this excited about school for a long time. She turned to me yesterday and said, Mom, I wish you would have started me at Chelsea from Kindergarten.

After placing my child into two different private schools, I found that their academic standards weren't the same as mine. Chelsea Heights has been an amazing experience for both my child and myself. It has the ability to give your children a diverse experience, while introducing them to the wonders of learning. The teachers there, are extremely competent and are highly invested in each student. The former principle was beyond exceptional and had both the respect and trust of his staff, as well as the parents. The current principle is striving hard to build the same kind of relationships and I find her to be both open and intelligent. I would not hesitate for a moment, in encouraging more parents to take a look at Chelsea Heights in its wonderful neighborhood of Como Park!

I came into this district last year and my oldest was in Kindergarten, he loves it there and I also love it. The teachers and staff are great. This year I have 2 in school there and it is still great. There is a new principal this year and it looks like it is going to be another successful year. They have a great gifted and talented teacher as my 1st grader will be in these gifted classe. Good luck!
