Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

this school is has a wonderful learning enviroment even though every classroom has a bully in it the teachers are now working harder on stopping that. my child has special learning classes because he has dyslexia and he says that they are really helping him. my other child is in all advanced classes and she has math, reading and science pull-outs. overall this school is a very great place for your children.

I have two daughters in this school. The older is in her 5th year. We love it! Both my girls are gifted and get pull-out services. The only thing that would make it better in both my girls eyes would be for it to be all girls.

This school is a rarity...it actually teaches children to think instead of teaching rote memorization of facts to ensure higher standardized test scores. The faculty and staff are incredibly caring towards the students, and what's more, this school could really use money right now, as it was the victim of a random act of vandalism when some kids bruned down their hard earned earned playground equipment.

I loved the idea of this school when I send my (now 8 year old) to pre-K here. I love the year round, the uniforms, the concepts but it all falls short and has gotten progressively less impressive throughout the 4 years I've had children attending. In theory it is a great idea but there's something broken in reality. I'm disappointed in the lack of quality education & am actively looking for a new school to send my 2 boys next fall.

We chose Crossroads for our daughter because of the convenient year-round calendar, the 4 year old half-day kindergarten, and a recommendation from a veteran St. Paul schools teacher three and a half years ago. On the positive side, the teachers do their best. Sadly, [there is] bullying by fellow students and arbitrary, authoritarian atmosphere fostered by the administration which has gotten progressively worse. We are desperately seeking a new school for our second-grader so that she is not permanently crippled by this school's incompetence.

Want your kid to get bullied? Send them here. We finally ended up pulling my daughter out of school before the school year was up for her own safety. We kept telling her Kindergarten teacher that she was getting bullied. At this school if your child is bullied repeatedly, each time is treated as a seperate incident with no apparent pattern. Four incidents, four ineffective slaps on the wrist for the bully. After the fifth incident we went to the superintendant and pulled my daughter out of school. Also my child is gifted and she wasn't challenged. I don't think that's the fault of the teachers; they have to adapt the curriculum based on the average ability of their students, which from what we gathered is not exceptional.

We are very pleased with crossroads science. The teachers are enthusiastic and warm, the facilities are great, the curriculum excellent. We have a daughter in the half-day 4-yr-old program and a son in the all-day kindergarten. They enjoy everything about school--wearing the colorful uniforms, attending the variety of specialty classes, meeting and making new friends. The year-round calendar is refreshing, and the level of diversity is impressive. It is great to have a school that the kids can't wait to get to when they wake up in the morning.

a great dynamic school with exemplary leadership and a vision for what inquiry-based science education can be. Hard work has enabled this school leadership team to compete, grant write and become a NASA Explorer school- connecting our kids to other kids, as well as astronauts, and a great science curriculum. U of MN scientists interact with students on a daily basis- in the inquiry zone and during special intersession classes. Besides science, all students are also engaged in learning a second language (Spanish). my child has found a culture of acceptance and learning that he did not find at the other SPPS school he attended.
