This school is a God-send for our children. We were looking for a transition from a public charter school rooted in the classical tradition to a Catholic school which would tear down that wall between faith and reason and present the truth as an integral whole. Chesterton Academy does exactly that. The teacher body is phenomenal, the students of the highest integrity, and our son actually ENJOYS school and learning. Chesterton once said "if there is no mirth, there is madness" and there is plenty of mirth at the academy, but they also take learning and forming children in the faith very seriously. We love the daily mass, the close-knit community among families, and can't wait to send all 7 of our children through the school. Thank you Chesterton Academy.

Chesterton Academy has provided a unique, challenging liberal arts curriculum for my son and daughter. The school is the product of a grassroots movement of parents looking for a high school dedicated to "developing complete thinkers who learn to draw on faith and reason for the purpose of building a culture of life." (quote from ChestertonAcademy.org) The subjects at Chesterton are integrated, building on each other to bring forth the truths of Jesus Christ and His Church. The Catholic, college prep curriculum includes daily mass, math, drama, language, science, philosophy, religion and history. My kids are learning that faith and reason are complementary and are being prepared to be warriors defending a culture of life. I've seen my kids grow amazingly in intellect, character and maturity. Highly recommended for not only teaching standards, but teaching high school students how to think.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
