My son was excited that he received 2 books as a prize for getting 2nd place in the read-a-thon. When I saw the books I realized they were not random books, but 2 he didn t already have & were clearly chosen with him specifically in mind. With his ever shifting & expanding eclectic interests, someone who really knew him had picked them out. Impressed, I asked what books the other 2 winners had received & learned they didn t get books but received prizes specifically picked out for them based on their interests. Getting books wasn t a default prize, wasn t because it was a read-a-thon, but was because of how much he adores books. That is TTSP. Our child is never, ever, just part of a crowd, never ever lost in the shuffle. He is his own complicated, remarkable individual at every turn. The prizes epitomize that for me, because they could have just given prizes that were donated or picked out before they knew who the top readers would be. It wouldn t have occurred to me to want anything different, anything more. But TTSP is always more. I can't even list all the times they have exceeded my expectations. The phrase above and beyond was created to describe TTSP.

Talmud Torah of St. Paul is a remarkable place. I never dreamed that school provide this much personal attention to children. My son is in his third year at Talmud Torah. He started in the 3rd grade. I wish I had placed him here earlier, and I wish I had sent my older son when he was in elementary school. One of my biggest wishes for my children is to learn a foreign language while young. My son can read, write, and speak Hebrew, and analyzes and interprets text at a level I never saw in the public school, even in English. He gets personal attention in all subjects, and the curriculum is fitted to expand the abilities of each child. The teachers and staff know him well - his quirks and his strengths - and treat him as a complex, developing person. He has formed strong friendships, and I, too, feel like an important part of the community. It is a small school, but the principal works to develop relationships and share resources with other schools, so that our children get a wide social network. Despite the small size, the art, music, and athletic facilities are great. The school could improve by increasing visibility in the Twin Cities.

My son has been a student here for two years, and we have loved it. The teachers are wonderful, as is the principal. My son had a difficult transition to kindergarten, and the faculty, principal, and learning specialist were able to come up with a highly individualized approach that worked beautifully. The academics are fantastic, but just as important are character values, and what he has learned enriches our family life as well. I can't recommend this school highly enough!

Our children graduated from this great Jewish institution. The academic excellence prepared them for HS and beyond. The nurturing environment added to their self esteem at a critical age. The science and math curriculum are exception acting as a solid base in their subsequent HS environment. No better school.

My 4 children have gone to this great Jewish community based school. The education opportunities my children have are remarkable. It is so nice to have a great academic school, as well as a school that offers music, art and a sports cirriculum.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
