After having 3 Virginia graduates who moved on to private MN colleges, I definitely feel our school isn't adequately challenging and preparing it's students for college. All 3 of my kids did very well scholastically and were active in extra curricular activities, but they had a rude awakening when they went to college and compared their high school experience to that of their college peers. Particularly striking was the lack of knowledge and experience in math and the sciences even though they all took the highest level math and science courses offered.
