I send my child there because of the small class size, that teaching about Christianity is part of the curriculum, and that the faculty and staff truly love the children.

Very good school with a good curriculum. Students do above average on ACT. Students really like most of their teachers and the teachers are able to reach the students using different techniques to help them better learn. It doesn't have all of the activities of public school, but the academic environment is excellent. Some of the teachers go above and beyond and foster lasting memories. Excellent values. With more students the school could do more so visit the school and send your children! They are set up so I can see my kids attendance and grades every day and I get emailed if they get below a certain grade. Parents are encouraged to be involved. I would highly recommend the school.

Cedar Lake Christian Academy has been such a blessing to our family! All 3 of our children have been educated at CLCA and I have been very pkeased overall. They have grown mentally as well as spiritually. The teachers and office staff are always friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend CLCA.

We are military and moved from California where I had my son in a public school and he seemed to struggle with reading there. My son is in the second grade with Mrs. Dunkin and now has a 4.0 GPA, his reading has improved so much! The staff is so friendly and kind abd the after care is wonderful! I honestly couldnt be happier with this school!!!!

I had my daughter at Cedar Lake Christian Preschool for years and was very satisfied with the staff, curriculum and hands on learning that she experienced daily. All of the staff were wonderful, caring adults that took their jobs very seriously. The director was ready and willing to help out at any given moment and made sure the program was top notch. Thank you everyone for preparing my daughter for kindergarten and for loving her the way you did!!!!!!!!

My rating is for the CLCA pre-school, I don't have any experience with the rest of the academy. I took my daughter out on the fourth day of attending. She is 2 1/2 and was in the 2K class. I stayed outside the room after leaving my screaming child so I could hear how long it took her to calm down. What I heard, infuriated me & turned my stomach! The way the teachers spoke to ALL the children including mine was revolting. They speak to the children as if they are already in trouble. My daughter was told to sit down and that she needed to act like a big girl- yes, in an ugly tone! After her teacher had been telling her to stop and sit down repeatedly she tinkled in her panties. To my surprise her teacher exclaimed, "SHE JUST PEED ALL OVER THE FLOOR!' to her coworker. The worst part was, she left her in them for 15 minutes- I don't pack 4 changes of clothes for nothing! The directors secretary and the other teachers all exhibited shady behavior once the learned I was outside the door and then there tune changed immediately! I was sick to my stomach that I let her stay there for four days! This was at 8:30 am! All I got in return were excuses as if I hadn't personally witnessed it all!

I am extremely satisfied with CLCA. The school has exceeded my expectations as a school for my child. My child s teacher is terrific, the office staff is very helpful, and the principal is incredible with all of the kids. They care academically and spiritually for my child. This is a school on the move in our community. I am glad it is not to large because I feel like I am part of a family at this school. I would highly recommend it to parents looking for a private Christian school or even if you want to get your child in a great academic setting, a safe environment, or to grow your child spiritually.

I have had children at this school for several years. I think the teachers and office staff are great. this school cares about your childs education but also about thier spirituual well being. This year seems to be going really well with the new principal. I like what I am seeing and what is going on in the school.

Overall this is a very good school. I think my childs teacher Mrs. Luscy floated down out of teacher heaven. The school is getting a new principal this year that I believe will only serve to take it to the next level of greatness. Any negatives that I have experienced have not been enough to make me consider not sending my child there. For example- I think the lunch selections could be much more healthy, but at the same time the lunch room staff were very nice and their kitchen was very clean. The playgrounds for the kids are fabulous, they even have an indoor one for bad weather days that puts chucky cheese to shame! I always felt welcome as a parent and felt that the schools heart was in the right place.

Both of my children attend this school and we loveit. The academics are excellent and so is the staff. I do agree with some of the feed back on discipline. However, the school will have a new principal this year and I'm sure this is one of the areas that will be improved. Overall , thhe school is great and I would recommed it to anyone looking for a good Christian school.

This is a great school. Excellent academics at a very affordable price. The before and after care really makes a difference for working parents. My daughter absolutely loves it and sometimes gets upset when she is picked up. Great environment...great people...great school.

My children went there and it was horrible. My fith grader learned absolutely nothing. It was a waste of money. It was like sending them to a day care. Also, the office never do[es] anything to discipline the kids. Some years are good but others were horrible. I would just like to point that out. On the other hand the history teacher Mr. Tackus, is a wonderful teacher.

This school has an excellent academics program. Parents are asked to be very involved. But the discipline of the students is awful! Art is awsome you really get a chance to learn about art and create your own. When you hit 6th grade you no longer get recess.

Over all a great school with a excellent preschool, most students have been scoring higher than average. However some programs have been restricted or deleted in the past couple of years that I feel is essential to development and good study habits. They do have a great chapel and sound materials. They have increased the ammount of extracurricular activities. They have a great art teacher and do have many parents involved in the school.

CLCA is a wonderful school where teaching is done in a creative and challenging way. The staff are actively involved in the lives of each and every child. Everyone has a smile on their face there! Extracurricular activities are available, and my kids look forward to them. Parental involvement is encouraged and solicited. I was amazed at this school's ability to successfully meld a first-class educational program with a family-oriented Christian environment. Don't miss this excellent opportunity to expose your child to a top-notch learning experience.

A++. CLCA is the most wonderful place to watch your child grow. I'm a single parent so money is tight but I would work 2 jobs to send my child here. I really enjoyed the fact that the daily class work is sent home for me to see what my child is learning and if there is anything I need to help him with. It does my heart good knowing my child loves to go to school each and every day. CLCA makes learning fun for the children so at the end of the day my son is excited to say what he had learned. I can't say enough about the support you recieve from the staff. You will never be sorry sending your child to CLCA in fact you thank yourself and so would your child.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
