I, after being pushed further and further on the waiting list, was able to get my two children into this school. I thought it would be better since it was a private school. Oh, was I wrong! The teachers are caught up in favoritism and drama. There is a great amount of psychological warfare between female students. Don't waste your money!

I went to Brookhaven Academy from the time I was 4 until I was senior. I feel that my time spent there was very enjoyable. We had the free opprotunity to pray and have morning devotional time. I was able to have a personal relationship with every member in my class. We worked as a family through good times and bad. I plan on sending my children there because I know they will be in a safe environment that is in no need of a campus cop!

Brookhaven Academy is a great school when you are a 'known' family. If you are just the common family you are pushed to the back. It is also just like alot of small town schools always drama going on. Not very good on girls. Can cause very stressful issue for them. Also the girls basketball coach can cause serious problems for the girls. He can be very harmful mentally to them. Most of the parents talk about each other and forget the problems in their own house. As long as you donate to the school your child can be tops at any sport there.

Great small school if you're looking for close teacher/student relationship. It is true that sports are funded more than other things that need attention and activities for non-sport minded kids is almost unavailable.

My child attended Brookhaven Academy and we choose to leave. I didn't feel that we were getting a quality education. Funding is very limited and what money is raised through fund raisers, etc were spent on updating the sports facilities at the school. Bathrooms in need of repair, leaky roofs, outdated computers all took a back seat to the sprinkler system on the football field. Priorities at BA are a little askew to say the least. Sports before education. That's their focus.

The academic programs are all fine and dandy, but there isn't a variety of classes offered. Students have to take what they can get! And as for extracurricular activities, only sports are stressed. There are no music classes, art classes, art clubs, drama clubs, etc, etc. There is basically only football, baseball, basketball, softball, track, the quiz bowl, golf, tennis, and soccer! No extra circs for non athletic kids.

I love the christian environment for my children. It seems the majority of parents have the same high standards and values for their children. It is nice to go to ballgames and not have to be scanned for weapons.

The small classes make all the difference in the world. There is more one on one time with the teachers. They are also allowed a christian environment.
