Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I attend MGJH! It is the best school I have ever been to! The staff and curriculm is great! We have recently retained our 'Level 5'! The sports are great too! I love it here!

I am a student at this school ,and I would have to say that is one of the best schools I have ever attended. I have medical issues and the staff goes beyond the their call of duty to see my need are provided for. The teachers are wonderful. They are open to questions and can relate to their students!!

My oldest son attended this school. He had previously attended wonderful elementary schools. He was and remains a straight-A student, but his time at Margaret Green was the biggest waste of time you can possibly imagine. Thank goodness his previous schools taught him so well that his two wasted years at Margaret Green did not adversely affect him too terribly much. (He simply had to work a little harder on his own to teach himself the things they should have taught him.) Some of the teachers were outstanding, but they were the exception, not the rule. I cannot even begin to express how much the school needs to replace the principal. My youngest is rapidly approaching the grade that would have him attend Margaret Green. You can believe that there are no circumstances under which I will send him to that place.

The administration here is horrible as well as their futile attmepts at maintaining order. This institution is inept to prepare many students for the rigors of high school. The faculty is uncaring and mediocre. I was more than happy to move away from this facility.

I have already had one of my children go through this school and one starting this year. I am seriously worried we will have a repeat of the experiences we have already been through, because there hasn't been an administrative change since. Most of the teachers were wonderful, but there are a few that have been kept on that should have been sent home many years ago. I agree with the other review that the rule only seem to apply when it suit the administration. They are broad and grey. They do fail to notify parents of 'new' individual school or classroom rule. (Probably due to parental backlash.) Their curriculum is adequate for state requirements but I do feel it stiffens progressive teachers who are just trying to help our kids compete in today's world. Sadly, I mostly feel it is just there as a lull between our towns very proficient elementary schools and getting better everyday high schools. Major Administration changes are needed at this school. Thank God it is only for two years.

My child attended this school. I am relieved to say that we have finally moved on. The most important issue at this school during our experience there was strict following of constantly changing rules. Perhaps it provides a good lesson to what prison life would be like. However, the experience is not one that I wish to repeat. Thankfully, my child was able to follow the rules and not end up in detention or worse. But the fear of crossing one of the vague lines took up too much energy that should have been on learning. The teachers are not the problem just the leadership. I know the test scores are good here, but that is because of the students coming into the school not what is happening while they are there. Imagine the possibilites these kids and teachers could achieve if only the principal didn't hold them all back.

As a parent of a MGJH student, I must say that I am pleased with the education that my child is receiving. The teachers at MGJH are highly trained and dedicated to teaching the students. MGJH is tops on my list of junior high schools.
