My son has gone to MSD for last four years . Sander Edward the Principle ,now the super intendant is AWESOME. The formost deaf educator in the country and the world . Most deaf schools world wide use the curiculars she developed. Brand new sports complex, new state of the comunicaitions systems. Loving ,careing ,highly educated staff. They are continually raiseing the bar for the standard for deaf education in the world in Mississippi under funded ,and under paid . If you want the best for your deaf child send them and its free for state residents. If you strive for excellence as teacher of the deaf come learn form the best. Small classes room for more. What a differance one week there can make in a deaf child, confidant ,outgoing, unafraid, independant, happy. The blessed deaf children go MSD, and the great parents send.
I graduated from mississippi school for the deaf several years ago. I havent become an parent yet but as young teenager who attended to MSD to experence everything. I strongly suggest to all of you parents, teenagers and guardians to please not sent your kids or yourself to this school. Because education level are really low, mixed teachers to teach mixed classes, and alot of bad things happend to kids that i have seen awful. Please go to public or private schools that have deaf program ready for you. trust me on this, i know a kid who chose my advice and went to public school. And he done alot of good grades also done some general studies that i never took while in that MSD.
