I recently had to move out of the Long Beach School district and relocated into another area that had "excellent" schools. I have been deeply dissappointed in our new system and am beyond thankful that I had the priveledge of sending my child to Reeves. The teachers were excellent, involved, engaged in the children individually, and attuned to their needs. The students came first. They also had a wonderful discovery program that my child participated in with equally as dedicated and knowledgable teachers. I miss Reeves and know that any child WILL get a first class education at that school.
I believe my child is getting an excellent education. The teachers and school are very involved with the parents.
I am a new parent to elementary education. My daughter was in kindergarten last year and it was a wonderful experience. All of the teaching staff and the administration love children and it shows. My daughter is reading at level 2 and going into the 1st grade this coming August 2010. I am looking for another great year at Reeves.
Reeves is a great school. My daughter is in kindergarten and her teacher is tough and pushes her to do her best, I think this is fantastic. It is a shame that our state finds the need to cut education in order to balance the budget (for the third time in one year) schools like Reeves who have teachers that put their hearts in to educating our children will suffer, as well as the students.
i went to reeves my self when i was little and i was in all advanced classes from middle school through the rest of my education. Reeves is a top notch school and i will send my children there.
My daughter has received a top notch education from Reeves. The teachers are true professionals that are highly educated in their areas of expertise. Most of them hold Master's Degrees and a great deal of them are National Board Certified Teachers. That is a huge accomplishment for these teachers and ultimately my child!
After coming here to the U.S.from Europe, where my daughter who is now 2nd grade, I found this schools curriculum far more advanced than the DOD school from where we came from. For the state of Ms. this is an excellent school. I would encourage any military personell arriving here for this reason to live within the Long Beach school district. My daughters transition into this school was met with patience and attention. I am extremely grateful therefore for choosing this school.
As a new student at this school my son was not welcomed. After his first year we moved him to a private school where he made and stayed on the honor roll. We had to sign a paper that they could not whip him. Strange in this day and age, at least we had the option of not letting anyone hit him. Instead of learning from each others differences he was instead punished for them. He tried hard to understand the new culture, but no one tried to understand how he was trying to adapt. I grew up on the coast and was anxious to have my child see the great place where I grew up. I was astounded at the lack of mutual respect at this school. Moving from California to Mississippi was something I did because I wanted my son to experience my hometown.
The teachers and staff at the school have provided my daughter (now entering 3rd grade) with an excellent education in K through 2nd. My daughter last year qualified for the school's 'Discovery' program and is excited about being in it again this year. While my wife and I are happy to take claim for our daughter's genes and do actively encourage her learning at home, we also believe we must give credit where due. We highly recommend the school.
