Lamar Elementary School

The teachers are disrespectful. They don't care about the children.

I think Lamar is an excellent school. The teachers are thrilled to have parent envolvement and the courses available are amazing, even for kindergarten classes. My son is in kindergarten and they have Spanish, Music, Art as well as many other things that he loves. And he especially loves the field trips, which are usually to plays which the kids love. This school doesn't just use the label 'Christian School', they really are. In one of the kindergarten classes (the one my son is in) they say a Bible verse daily to get their snack at break. My son loves that. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and they seem to know everyone's name (parents) by the 3rd month of school. I am very pleased with everything about this school, my only wish was that they had more afte school sports for the Elementary students.

Lamar Elementary School is an excellent school. The mission of Lamar is to educate the whole individual by providing a challenging, stimulating, and purposeful college preparatory curriculum in a Christian environment. The philosophy of Lamar School is to encourage intellectual curiosity, stimulate creativity, encourage individuality, and develop integrity and honor by maintaining a strong moral and educational environment. My child is in the second grade at Lamar. He loves school. In addition to Lamar's educational standards, they also strive for high standards in conduct and discipline. The teachers and Mrs. Pass (Librarian) stimulate the curiosity of each child through reading. Ms. Trest, director of the Art program, gives each child an appreciation of the arts. Students also receive instruction in music, science, computers, and foreign language (Elementary Spanish). Lamar is accredited by the Mississippi Private School Association and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Hightly Recommended!
