After putting one child thru the torture of this high school I hope I never have to again. My child is a straight A student, no thanks to the teachers or staff at this schoold. In a consolidated high school, if you are not from Monticello, then your child doesn't have a chance in sports, scholarships, awards or anything else. The teachers only care about the locals with the exception of the Advanced Math teacher, she appreciates children who are prepared for her classes regardless of where they come from. This small town is in complete control of the school, the sports events, and anything else. It is so unfair for kids who are not local to have to drive ten to twenty miles to school and parents must provide their own transportation if the kids are involved in sports and required to stay after school. In hindsight, I would have paid for private school had I known how unjust this school system is.
My sons are current students, one will be graduating in May 2012 and he has been Principles Scholar for a lot of terms. My issue is that with good grades - he is having a difficult time being accepted at colleges outside of MS because the school curriculum has different requirements than required by other states- so he is being punished for that as if he has a shortcoming. He cannot meet the requirements to attend college- because of the school curriculum?
LCHS has educated all three of my children. The teachers here are of high quality, and do a wonderful job. I totally support thier JROTC program, with what they teach in these young adults. And the ones I have met are fine young men &women. A fine school to educate your children.
Lawrence County High School is the best. I am a freshmen in the high shool one word It AWSOME the teachers are the best. They Care about the students they help us when we need it they are awsome. But the best part about it is the JROCT program the stuent get the chance to be the leaders and teachers. The JROCT alloaws You to Excell in everything. But the High School Is Great And I Love It.
Amazing! One word! Authority is strict enough to keep kids in line, and they reward those that behave good. I would recommend!
I think that LC is a great School!!! It has a great academics, and atheletics department.! The sports are awesome as well as the school.! During the school hours, the students behave very well and are very attentive. During the extra-curriculum activities, the tudents and the coaches work very well with each other, causing our school to have a great sports program.
This is an outstanding school to attend. Any student would be privileged to attend such a fine learning institution such as this.
