My child is a new student at EP. She has never been to a school with such a huge lack of racial diversity. It is very surreal. The parent involvement score for this school seems a bit inflated which must call into question the other scores. I have met a few of the teachers and was impressed with their professionalism and commitment to the success of their students. The interactions between the teachers and students seemed strained with the teacher being emotionally detached. In fact, I do not recall seeing even one teacher smile at any student even once in the 20 minutes that I spent in the school--and this was at lunch time. First impressions being what they are, I have some concerns. More to come...

East Park is a wonderful school with great teachers. The school continues to stive by encouraging their students to stay focussed and engage in their studies. Parents must remember that it is not only the responsibility of the teachers to educate their children. It is the responsibility of the parents to encourage their kids to excel. I am a parent of three, and I wouldn't want to see my kids anywhere but East Park. Keep up the good work!

There are some teachers that are very very good with the students there at East Park. If anything, I believe that there is a need for more student-parent support. I have a daughter that is currently in the second grade. In the first grade she was reading on a 2-3 grade reading level. The teachers and the principal did everything they could in order to put my child in a grade with her reading level caan soar even higher. However, the teachers are there teaching and when I go to the school, I am sometimes the only parent in teh whole building. There is more ways to show your support other than money. Come out and volunteer your time and help other students become good citizens and give the teachers your support. We need volunteers in every school showing that they support what the staff is doing,
