This is a great school for those who want to actually learn something and make something of themselves.. The staff may not be as advanced as other schools but they do care for its students as well as the school.. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to be something in life and succeed at it..

My second child , Julianna is a senior at VHS. We have had a wonderful time and had the best of teachers. As I say to all, please come and visit Vicksburg High School. Come through the doors of the school and meet the wonderful people that have loved and taught my girls so much. We have always had a great parent group that has always been there for the students. When Haley my first daughter had graduated from VHS and was attending MSU in her first few weeks as a freshman, she called home and said 'mom and dad, I really have to study but I'm doing well. I did get a good education from Vicksburg High.' That said it all, yes you have schools that have good days and bad. We appreciate the faculity that has given so much to the girls and I know they will be missed.

Having had three children go to VHS, I have seen changes over the last 15 years that show great progress in the classroom setting There has also been great opportunities for students to become involved in several organizations that foucs activites on community involvement. No, VHS is not the 'promise land', but it is one of the best and safest schools in the state.

VHS provides each student with a quality education. Most of the teachers at VHS have 20+ years experience; hold a Master's degree in his/her subject; four of the teachers on staff are National Board Certified; and all teachers actively engage in workshops during the summer months to better equip themselves to meet the needs of students. Teachers habitually arrive early and leave late every day. Every teacher makes a concerted effort to be available to students for one-on-one conferencing and to answer questions. Parents are actively encouraged to participate in the education of their children. Unfortunately, the response to the teachers making themselves available is not what it should be by a concerned student body and the parents of those students.

Vicksburg High was the best high school that I had been to ever. The staff was very understanding of everyone's learning ability and the fact that the best history teacher in the district, if not the state (Mr.Wong), to my knowledge still works there. The student body is more that accepting of all new comers and the extracurricular activities are the best in the district, in my personal opinion. The level of parent involvement could be better. Overall, Vicksburg High has much to offers its students, and is a great experience for everybody who attends.

I would like to see the teachers get more involved with the students. Seems to me if there is a whole lot of the children failing the class it has to be the teacher.

I go to Vicksburg High School, and I currently will be a senior in the fall. I believe Vicksburg could be better. Like, we could get a better principle, and some more teachers. But, we will always have pride in our school. For instince, our band. The rock, if I may say so myself. The band keeps the crowd pumped up with so much spirit its unbelievable at peprallys and football games. I however, do not believe that our school is very safe. I think the school would be better if we could just get some more security.

I graduated from VHS in 2005 and I firmly believe that I recieved a wonderful education, and I was prepared for college. I am extremely glad that I had the priviledge of attending this school. So many of the teachers had a positive influence on my life and I am glad to have been taught by every single one. :) There is also the best band ever at Vicksburg High School!
