I was a student at Bourbon High a few years ago. I had some pretty good competition as far as being veledictorian. Its really the kids attitude towards school that make it worthwhile or not. Whether they learn anything really stems from home. Honestly though, BHS has been in and out of principles in the last 8 years or so. And there have been teachers come and go too. I believe its the lack of incentive to stay. They can't hire someone good and keep them because of the schools budget. Lets face it, Bourbon is a poor town. But all in all, I had a good 4 years in high school and I wish I could go back. You learn what you need to know and it stays with you if you want it to.

Wow! I don't know of anyone who could NOT make straight A's in this school. It's really a shame. All they are asked to do is regurgitate materials that were taught, in some cases, over four years ago. If being Valedictorian is your goal...enroll at Bourbon High School!

We have been in the district for 12 years and 3 kids. Elementary and Middle School are awesome. Their classroom materials and teachers and absolutely wonderful. Then you move on to the High School -- the HS cannot keep the same teachers from year to year, the cannot keep principals and the moral of the ones who do stay is AWFUL!!! There are not enough books for each student to have books in some classes, favortism seems to be the priority of the day and all the while Mr. Gaines sets around over in his office and could care less!!!! I am glad this is the last year we have to deal with this HS!!!

Many of the teachers are interns or do not have the appropriate creditials. Tons of homework that they expect for the parent to teach their children. Always
