Branson Elementary East is a fantastic school. The sudents each have an individual goal to reach not just a grade level goal. The staff from the principal to the kitchen help are all involved with the kids. You can definitely see the total involvement on a Monday morning assembly. We had offers to move but it is this awesome school system and community that we want to keep Branson our home.
We had an excellent experience at Branson Primary. One of the nice things about Branson is that there is a ton of money being poured into the school. I was impressed with their Tech Night. They also have a character assembly that they do every Monday morning. To be frank, I was very concern coming to this school, with the rating from this websight. We had a great year! God is good! The only down side to this school, is that it is large. It is a brand new school and it was run very well. I'm giving it 4 stars. The only reason it is not a five star is the size of the school.
My son has attended Branson Schools for three years beginning with Kindergarten. First and second grade lack a lot to be desired. I totally agree with the parent in 2004 regarding the curriculum being set by the State and administration instead of the pace of the children sort of a do or die approach. My son is considered gifted, yet they only offer a gifted class for 3 hours, once a week. My biggest complaint is communication between teachers and parents. They expect primary age children to remember and be responsible as an adult. Having a complete understanding of the daily activities and schedule during class is difficult and frustrating. Furthermore, interaction between teachers and parents is scarce. It is now May, there has been only one scheduled meeting. All others have been scheduled myself. And discipline within the school should be communicated to the parents, which they are not just find out.
In many ways I have been very pleased with the academic program at Branson Primary. My daughter has thrived in the AR reading program, enjoys each of her 'specials' teachers, and had wonderful experiences in Kindergarten as well as first grade. My only problem lies with the administration and the 'get it done at all costs' attitude they seem to hold. It would seem to me that providing a solid foundation in core subjects such as aritmetic and language would serve a child better than having them appear accelerated in said areas by forcing fractions and division on them by their second grade year.
My kids have attended Branson Schools since before Kindergarten and are very happy and well adjusted. We have been very fortunate with all the teachers our kids have had so far. They have all been very warm, genuine and dedicated to educating all the children. They welcome and encourage parental involvement, which I am extremely pleased with. Both of my kids have excelled both socially and academically. Overall, we love Branson schools!
This school is excellent. The teachers and administration are outstanding! My son loves to go to school everyday. We are so impressed with the loving atmosphere of the school, yet my son's teacher has very high academic expectations. She has really allowed him to shine in and out of the classroom.
My son has attended this shcool for three years. Overall we have been very happy with the teachers and staff. I was not happy with the change of principles during the 03/04 year because of some changes that were made, specifically, looping being taken away. I would be happier if his bus came later, as it is now it comes at 6:30, and we live only 7 minutes from school,(school starts at 7:45, and buses arrive at 7:15). This school does offer children a wide variety of special opportunities though, for children who need special assistance and an accelerated program. My son seems to really enjoy school here.
Teachers have little to do with curriculum - Curriculum is driven by the administration with emphasis on test performance instead of 'teaching kids' thus students are put in box where every student must be on the same page, on the same day at the same time. Research has proven this is not effective teaching and certainly children will be left behind.
