We are a small school, but we have a superb staff! With exception of the 1st grade (the previous teacher moved into the Title I position), we have retained our teachers for the last 3 years and most even longer. That is great for my kids, they are familiar with them and already know who they will have teaching them next year. The staff work great together, put our students first and are actively involved in The PTO. We are co-oping with another small school to field football and baseball teams. We have just chartered our own FFA chapter. Our state test scores are up and continue to climb. The schools financial situation is sound and there is no talk of closing down. I'm glad my children are in a school where they have opportunities to be leaders, play sports instead of sitting the bench and are not just a number.

The small class sizes are great, unfortunatly the district doesn't take advantage of the small class sizes. Instead the teachers are given no training in their brand new reading program which they have never had until this year and they are expected to teach reading. They have no idea what they are doing the staf is full of relatively new teachers. They lack creativity and have very little imagination. The school district is doing away with a full time fine arts department and expecting to continue in reaching children's needs. The district is in serious danger of shutting down due to finances. They should either consolidate or close down. They are harming the children with all of their cut backs.
