Mark Twain is Awesome! My oldest boy has gone there from Kindergarten - 6th grade, and I hope all 5 of our children can complete their Elementary education there. I see that the teachers and staff are all committed to excellence in education and caring for the students. Principal Rosenthal is the glue that holds it all together. Her expectations and love for the kids is contagious, and creates a great environment of learning.

I feel Mark Twain Elementary school is the best in Carthage. The teachers are very active in helping each child. It feels like a small country school with higher education than surrounding towns. There is a variety of cultures and income levels which I think is very important to prepare my child for real life. She went to another school the previous year and she was very intimated by the size of the school and the number of students. She is doing incredible at Mark Twain and she says 'she is so glad she changed schools'. She loves her class, the principal (Mrs. Rosenthal), her teacher (Mrs. Sweet), and especially the small school feel. I would encourage any parent to come visit the school at any time because you will always find it welcoming.

Mark Twain does have great test results thanks to the upper grade teachers. They are fantastic. However, the lower grades are the concern. They are the ones that are suppose to mold our young minds. If one falls behind, lets not do what we can to help, lets just do the quick fix and hold them back. Maybe we need a fresher idea on education and a new principal.
