I am a parent that has 3 children. 2 of my children have already graduated from Cooter High. I have one child that is still in school. My children have been attending Cooter school since kindergarden. All that I have to say is Cooter is a great school! I love the way that the staff encourages the students to continue their education after high school. I have never had any problem with any staff member at this school.
I am a student in Cooter Jr High in 7th grade.Cooter is a great school they have a wonderful staff and the coach is kinda cool.We have a lot of teachers that are great and our principalis awesome he is the high school basketball coach and this year our team won Tri County Conference 1st place! We have baseball, basketball, volleyball,& cheerleading. We dont have much but everyone makes the team and we are pretty good ever year. ---Adam Poe 7th grade
I attended Cooter High School for 4 years and loved it. This is an excellent school and I would recommend for any student to attend here. The teachers do a wonderful job and are willing to help anyone. The band is also awesome! This school may be small and not have alot of extracirricular activities but it's a great school. The only part about the school that I would say is bad is the principal. He doesn't try to help people in the best way. This man is not out to better the school at all. Mr. Gore was the principal before him and did an excellent job.
I am not a parent, but I did attend Cooter High School for all 4 years of my high school career. I loved it at Cooter. I do have to say we had some rough times, but the good outweighs the bad, by far. It is not hard to meet friends at Cooter. Everyone is so nice. You always feel at home and can talk to the teachers about anything, they may not want to hear it sometimes, but they still listen. There are so many good things about Cooter High Scool thatI could type all day long and never tell you them all.
Im not a parent but im a student at cooter high school, and if i may say so my self cooter is a great school we have the highest test scores in the bootheel. We have Great academic programs, The coachs are very good. The band at cooter is great we havent lost a competition in a very long time thank you mr allard. art is a great class we have winners in compotitions all the time thank you mrs d. And one last thing the parents are great there they come out and support us at basketball and baseball. and to the cheerleading coach great job this year you got your all stars Great job mrs Tonya. O and you cant forget this man he is a great principal we at cooter are very lucky to have him. he keeps everything in line. he's an ex military personal thanks Mr Killian for everything.
Cooter is a great school and I would recommened for anyone to have their child attend Cooter. Cooter has come a long ways and we deserve the credit that has been given to the school. At Cooter you never have to worry about your children because you know they are safe. Not only do we have a one on one classroom environment, the teachers really care if the students succeed. It's a shame to hear someone comment on Cooter when they have no clue what they are talking about.
As a parent I feel very lucky to have a school like Cooter for my children to attend. It is a very safe school, and that is very important in this day and time. The staff are excellent, they are supportive and caring people. As far as parental involvement you don't get any better than Cooter, where else can a town of 500 people raise $800 on a car wash! I don't see where Cooter is behind at all in technology or curriculum. Times have definately changed at Cooter. The one thing I do feel they need is some more extra-curricular activities for girls, But they do seem to be working on it. I agree with Ms. Sharp the Cooter High School Band can not be beat!
This is a wonderful school and the academic programs are some of the best in the area. My daughter has been going here since 4th grade and has brought to her a sense of confidence she didn't have until she came here. She gets one on one attention and feels most importantly equal to the rest of the students. Cooter also has the best music program I've seen around here. The school is lucky to have Mr. Allard. Cooter is a safe community and I am very thankful for it.
As a former graduate of Cooter High School, I must insist you are greatly mistaken. You attended CHS in the days of low funding and 'scraping to get by economics.' I know this because I remember you. CHS has taken large strides to better itself since those days. They have new state of the art computer technology, as well as a brand new Science lab also stocked with state of the art technology. Also, with the addition of many new teachers since your departure the school has started a process of 'weeding out' those who want to learn and those who want to play around. The staff has 2 former Marine Drill Sgts. thus there is an air of disciplinarian leadership. So, with all due respect, I must insist that you have no idea of what you are talking about.
This school was simply horrible! We gave it a try for five years. The teachers, lesson plans, and books are very very out of date. There were only a couple of semi-modern computers. This school is very old fashioned and behind in the times.
