When I moved my children from North Carolina to Missouri, I knew the qaulity of education would dip somewhat. I did not expect it to plummet. I found the qaulity of materials, and instruction to be below par. This is a school that still uses hooked on phonics?! If you have any choice what so ever do not send your child to Elsberry. They were in that school less than a month before I got them out of there, FAST.

This is our fisrt year in the district and it has not been a positive experience. I have two children. One of the teachers is condesending and rude to myself and her students. It is a known problem, yet nothing has been done to my knowledge. Both of my children are experiencing academic problems where they never have before. I am hopeful that these can be ironed out, but though I have spoken with teachers, they have provided little more than advise. What I mean here is that I was looking for ways the teachers and I could work together to help my children. Possibly our problem is an adjustment problem. Only time will tell. We do loke the overall atmosphere and student body. We remain optimistic.

I can't imagine why the parent below would downgrade this school. We moved here 6 years ago and the PAT program and schools have been excellent. If your involved at all with the school and your children, then they will have no problem flourishing here. The teachers are excellent.

I am not sure where the other parent is getting their information, but I recently came to this school and love it. My daughter is enjoying her and grade class that only has 21 students in it. The school was worried about over crowding in the 5th grade so they added a new teacher to resolve the problem. Being a small school students are able to grow up together within the district compared to another local district where they have several sections of each grade level. Students there are lucky to see each other from grade to grade. As in most elementarys, there are no set extracurriular activities. In the middle school or high school, there were no sports activities cut. I am sorry the other parent has a problem with this excellent school district.

This is possibly one of the worst schols in missouri. This is a very small town, and unless the students family was born and raised here, they leaves any new comers out. The same group of students recieve the awards every year. We moved here to help our daughters get a better education. This was a huge mistake. The classes are over crowded and most of the teachers do not put any interest into the students. We have lost all of our extracurricular activities, except those involving the principals or the superintendant. Do not move here!!! we are looking into home schooling or transfering into another district. I give this school a 0.
