My daughter went to Truman in 2009/2010, her teacher was Mrs. Sitzes. Great teacher! Now my youngster daughter will start this coming year 2011/2012 , she can't wait to start since she was involved in some of the extra activities that the school provided for the students and she was able to participate with her sister. I hope Mrs. Sitzes can be her teacher. I love the away the entire staff works and respect everyone. My first daughter left there reading very well.
This is a great school, but the teacher-student ratio is not right. My son has 24 classmates in his room.
This is my sons first year in kindergarden and of course as with all children they are scared, but thanks to his teacher Mrs.Wolk she had make him feel very welcome and I am very thankful for that. I know it is only the first couple weeks of school but I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am with the way she is with the children..I've only heard positive things about her and that's a great relief. Thanks again Mrs.Wolk!
I am very impressed with Truman! If I could give it more stars I would. Two of my children have attended Truman. One had Mrs.Watson in the 2001-2002 school year and the other had Mrs. Wolk in the 2004-2005 school year. GREAT TEACHERS! You can tell they love their jobs and are there for the kids. Mr. Watson is the most impressive principal. He knows each student by name when they walk in door. Then you have Mrs. Laura Denkler the school nurse and Mrs. Debbi Pigg who is at the front desk, I have seen both of them at registration, working the school book fairs, and at the kid's school plays. This is defiantly one of the better schools I have ever seen and we have 6 kids all together. Academicaly it is a great school, with a devoted team who go out of their way to make each child feel important.
My daughter attended truman 6 years ago and now my son is attending there. I have always been happy with truman, no.1 Because it is strictly a 'kindergarten' school. No other grade levels share the campus. That gave me a feeling of security for my kids. Knowing they would be only with 5 year olds in their first year. Things are scary enough without adding 'big kids' to their day. They promote character education and stick behind those rules. Parental involvement was encouraged. All of the staff is campassionate, caring and loving. It was a great experience for both my kids.
Our son Kaleb had the best teacher I think any student could ever have. Mrs.McDowell is a very loving teacher who cares about her students! She has taught so much to her students in such a short time, not only book smarts but how to be respectful, and to learn to make the right choices! Having Mrs. McDowell as our son's first teacher has given him a wonderful start to school. Thank you Mrs.McDowell. #1 Teacher A+
