This school goes the extra mile for kids! It has an amazing staff and they work hard to make sure students are successful. The PBS Program helps all of the students and my child loves getting the Positive Referrals and the post card that is mailed home. The curriculum challenges the students and the Accelerated Math and Reading Programs keep everyoe engaged in practice. MAP scores are always high and students get medals for their hard work. Way to go Bush School!
Teachers have an understanding of typical peers but lack knowledge of children with special needs. They are not willing to adapt to children with autism. Administration stands behind the teachers and really does not investigate most problems within the classroom. Fulton Schools Special Services will not go the extra mile in services or support for children that are struggling.
Great with advanced reading and math! My children have always been above their reading level and one always above her math level, Bush staff have been very good at keeping up with them & keeping them from getting bored with work they already know. Adminstrative staff have always left something to be desired, but teachers themselves and thier curriculum are worth keeping them at Bush!
The teachers have been wonderful, but the administration and policies leave much to be desired. They work to achieve a desired goal, but often go about it in a manner that punishes students for things which they have little or no control over (kindergarten kids being suspended because parents drop them off a few minutes late or pick them up early) . Also, I have a highly intelligent daughter who was bored in her regular classes. When they evaluated her in the beginning of the year, her placement was ABOVE what they wanted students to be at by the end of the year. She scored flawlessly on all her work and tests but they REFUSED to test for the gifted program, claiming they needed MAP scores (end of year) to have something to base their referral on. That one test, not repeated performances, means everything. So she's wasting away for another year until they get their precious scores back.
