We have had a very poor experience with the middle school. My child has been verbally and physically bullied by other students, the Principal has done little to stop it and has not come up with an effective plan to bring it to a halt. After having this happen to 2 of my children,I can no longer keep them in this district. School should be a safe place for all kids where they grow and learn but sadly my kids are not thriving here. All I can say is do your homework before you place your children here. Elementary schools are great but it goes downhill from there.
this middle school has been a nightmare,we are a military family and my wife works also ,we have 2 children that have been suffering in this school because we dont have the option to move they run the school like nazi's and do so without reprocussion,we have tried to contact the superintendants office without sucess.anybody that thinks this is a good school doesnt know better or they are from here....caution newcomers not welcome!!!!
My daughter has been in this school district for five years. Teachers are amazing. Office staff always friendly and helpful. My daughter had been in other schools prior to Grain Valley and we have notice a difference in my daughters attitude toward school. She Loves school now and can't wait to go.
This school is amazing. The teachers are very involved and care about us students which is grand. I wish I could say the same for our principal. She does a very poor job I am sorry to say. The after school programs are great. I feel though that the school needs to crack down on some of the students enternal problems. Overall this school is awesome and I would tell anyone who is thinking about going here to go!
I go to school here. It is wonderful, we don't have homework often but that is because all of the challenging work they like to have during class. Also, we have SOAR, a lot of us catch up during that time. Over all, I think the staff is good. Although, I am in 8th grade and I have not seen that principal just walking around checking on us more than 10 times, 6-8th grade!
My daughter complains she gets bored while waiting for one or two students to catch up. Very seldom has homework. I do like the ability to check grades via web site and I ve gotten quick response on any e-mail sent to a teacher.
I think this school needs a principal thats not such a boring person. The kids need to have some more fun, but learn at the same time!
Excellent staff and wondeful... everything best school i have been to.. ever!!
The work doesn't seem very challenging. My child never has homework and it doesn't seem like they are being pushed very hard. The school is too easy on problems. Students who are bullied and harrassed and only get suspended. The principal doesn't seem to be very involved with the school.
