Obviously, the reviews are old when the school had a better reputation. Not so now! My daughter, once a fantastic student became a victim of a bully. Unfortunately it was her social studies teacher. I went to the principal, the admin, received no help. I went to the state and was told that I definitely had a case against this teacher but I had to keep my daughter there so it was ongoing, then they could step in. There was no way I was subjecting my child to that. My daughter is tough but she has the biggest heart ever and I'll be damned if i was ever going to let a teacher take that away. So, I pulled her out mid year and now pay for a private school..I can't tell you how much she struggled at first. Seriously made me wonder what was taught..

I have to say my youngest started our in Mehlville School District and when we moved into Hillsboro, I thought the School system was a lot like Mehlville. I have put 2 children through Hillsboro Schools and I couldn't say enough about the support I have received from the Teaching Staff. They have made me aware of any problems before they became out of sorts. I would not change anything for the experience I have had with this District

I am a former sudent at Hillsboro Junior High and High School. I believe Hillsboro has a very good teaching staff! My teachers all went out of there way to help me do better in school. I can't say a whole lot about the principal leadership because they have all changed since i've graduated, but overall I think Hillsboro is an outstanding school. I'll start off by saying that i'm a student at this school and well... it's not what it's all cracked up to be...everyone's so strict and they expect so much from us students. The tax money that was used for the school shouldn't have gone towards a new school but to the (then) current schools. Some of them really didnt have A/C's in most of the rooms. they've split the middle school between 2 different buildings. The high school is right next to the Primary school, and the other grade 3-8 are on the other side of the highway. This high school only has the soccor field on the grounds, the football field is across the road with the other schools. Mostly what i'm trying to say is that the whole Hillsboro School District doesnt know how to manage their money right...and so forth.

I have a child that is a Senior this year 2004-2005. She has attended since the first grade. The only problem that I have had is with one teacher and she no longer is employed with this school. Other than that, I have found no problems. I have been very pleased.

This school has been a big disapointment for my child and myself. This is not a good school to send a learning disabled or emotionaly diabled student to.
