I think that Hollister, as compared to Branson schools is a great place. Hollister might not be as big as Branson but its not as small as to where there are only twenty or less people in each graduating class. The last school that I went to was small like that and I have also gone to Branson. Also I like the way the staff does their job. They aren't rude or crude but they also aren't push overs. Mr Ford and Mr Woods do an exceptionally great job!

My daughter went to another local school, we moved to Hollister and I was amazed at the friendliness of the kids. I feel the smaller school is a better fit for my daughter as she is able to excel here as I think she may have been overlooked at a larger school. Sure it could be better but I see so much desire to be better-it can only go up.

Okay, firstly every school has it's problems. I'd also like to say, no matter what people say about Dr. Dan he's a good person. That being said, he's a good person, but as a principal...eh...But it isn't just him, our whole school board needs help. I think Mr. Ford has done a fabulous job or getting school spirit and morale up. He's given kids a reason to want to be at school...There's one thing that I don't really like. I think more time, money and staff should be put into the arts programs. You always hear about the sports programs, but how often does the school get hyped up for the play or for a concert. We really need to have a drama teacher. Mrs. VanDeuren is already spread so thin, she teaches Art 1-4 and Speech, directs the play, and does 2 clubs. HHS isn't just sports.

Im not a parent but I do go to school here. I have only seen half a year under the control of Dr.Dan, as I call him, and have seen an entire year under the control of Mr.Ford and from my experience with previous principals, I have to say that Mr.Ford has done the best job of keeping the school happy and safe. I personally have never had a problem with bullies and feel completely safe walking the halls of this school. Mr.Ford has done more than any principal I have ever seen to keep the student body happy and content, with the installation of a flat screen T.V. in the commons area ,the addition of ping-pong tables in the gym, and the plethora of in school activities, I have to say that I, as a student, am very pleased with the turn the school has taken. Hollister High!

Finally we have a principal who can speak to a parent. Unfortunately he has to appoligize for his teachers too many times for errors. I believe Mr. Ford has brought the morale of the students up. It's a shame that the School Board can't find better teachers.

Well another year. Thank god it's our last one. Same ole stuff new players. The superintendent will return calls as will the principal but nothing is every done just half hearted attempts to placate a parent. Graduation is what we are looking forward to,about eight months to go,but the damage has already been done. Thanks for nothing guys.

I agree that the administration is a bit shakey. Dr. Vandiver is making things too strict but not enforcing some things If you are active in school then it's like you can get away with anything. Like walking in the halls without a pass and wearing skimpy clothes. The teachers are excellent though. All of the teachers are willing to take the time to help you with any problems. The new study hall program is excellent. Yeah, kids complain about it but they are actually getting their homework done. The new school is nice. The gym doors don't have any windows in them and open into the hall, kids get smacked by them all the time. The English department is horrible because of the constant roll over of teachers. The band is sounding greater each year. Raney has done an excellent job and he should be given more credit than he is given.

The administration is a nightmare, there is huge tolerance for bullying and violence. The teacher do what they can and they are a great bunch the kids respect and love them, they do an awesome job my child has been there for 9 years and has gotten a great education. Lets keep them safe first and foremost stop the bullying, step up to the plate and do something for the sake of the kids.
