oak park is a very good school it really is academic it helps u with all your levels of study .. they really take time and study with you and give you that comfort of support and to let you know that they'll be there when you need them...
Oak Park has a long history of excellence. I'm proud to be a part of a school that knows how to do it right. So many seniors win academic scholarships for all their hardwork & dedication to community & school. The fine arts department is second to none, and the Journalism department is nationally recognized. There are so many amazing things about Oak Park, I could go on and on!
I Went to oak park over the last school year and i hated it there was too many fights the teachers didn't care. The principal was great one though. The school also had about 2000 students and it was to cramped for that many students.
I went to Oak Park. Some of my family went to the other two schools in the district. Those of us lucking enough to attend Oak Park received a much better education. I am now helping family who didn't go to Oak Park with their college classes. I was very prepared for college. The teachers are wonderful and caring. The schools test say it all. Most everyone got along. I am looking forward to sending my own children there.
I loved this school. It was a great place to learn the teachers were very helpful and I learned a lot in all of my classes. The principal was the best principal you could ask for. I loved Oak Park and I would defiatley recomend it
We moved to the Oak Park School District from the Winnetonka School District due to the higher standard and quality of a school. I am very happy with Oak Park and they they are very strict with the 'no tolerance policy' which I am very happy with. My daughter loves her teachers and is in the Gold Medallian program. She loves her music and has done extremely well in all of her classes. The only negative thing that I have to say is that the School District must a stricter policy on cellphone use. It's too distracting and kids abuse this priviledge with texting. Cellphones are not for school, they are for AFTER school and they shouldn't be allowed in the classrooms.
Oak Park appears to do pretty well in teaching math and science but is poor in providing a good grounding in social studies.
I have attended Oak Park, it focuses on the entire school, every aspect; sports, education (they don't baby you, they prepare you for real life), and music. It is a much better option.
Oak park does not have the quality education I was looking for in this district (I ended up transferring my kids to winnetonka). Its good, but I dont believe its held to the standard they say it is. It seems the school only focuses on sports
Oak Park is an o.k. school. The teachers aren't as helpful as most parents would like, but you get what you can get. The principal is'nt as concerned with the students as of most schools my children have gone to. I do hope it improves. I do have to say that their football players are exceptionally well, but wish this school wasnt so involved with sports.
As a former student at Oak Park, I do not feel that I was prepared for college at all. I had NO idea what I was getting into. I think at Oak Park there is more of an emphasis on sports than anything else, really. The music programs are pretty good there, but Oak Park lives and dies by football. I think that if Oak Park put as much emphasis on education as they do sports, college would be easier than high school. Kids would know what to expect from college, and kids would be better prepared for college.
I attended Oak Park all 4 years of my high schoool education, and feel that it really did prepare me for college. The school does offer many different educational programs to fit the needs of different students. I honestly can say that i think most of my teachers were competant individuals. The only problem I can see is that there is quite a bit of favoratism within the school. A select few students are allowed to get away with anything by the administration, mostly athletes, and the teachers do have a tendancy to stereotype kids based on how they dress. In conclusion: good educational and after school programs, somewhat shady social promotion.
I have had 2 children graduate from Oak Park. My youngest will be a Senior next year. My youngest is currently enrolled in the Gold Medallion Program. I personally feel this program requires a lot to be completed by the student within 1 year. However, the program is being revised for the 2003-2004 school year. The changes being made should help dramatically. This program really prepares the student for college. I would highly recommend it. I believe my children have received a great education from Oak Park. I would recommend any student to go there.
I went here, received an excellent education, and made lifelong friends as well!
