"Dameanor?" Good heavens I hope you don't help your child with their homework. My husband and I are very fortunate our daughter goes to Foxhill and we love the staff - from the teachers to the cafeteria cooks to, yes, the principal. Why is it women are so intimidated by a strong woman instead of seeing her as a terrific role model? Their own inner insecurities perhaps? Dr. Baker and her staff are fantastic and they run an outstanding educational system. But remember, they are only the teachers and staff and principal. They are not our children's parents. My husband I are blessed to know our daughter attends a school that genuinely cares for them and loves them. Signed, Grateful for Foxhill and the ENTIRE staff!!
Fox Hill is a fantastic school! The North Kansas City School district has a reputation as a whole for being outstanding however Fox Hill outshines them all. In these turbulent times Fox Hill "gets it". That to meet the students educational needs, other needs must be satisfied first, such as appropriate clothing and nutritional school lunches. Although most school lunch programs make extra money off the chips, cookies and ice cream cups, the cafeteria manager sends students back for a fruit or veggie before the money making bag of chips. She knows all the students by name. The teachers are all wonderful in their own right and care individually about each student. Mediocre teachers can't measure up and they know it and quickly move on. As for the principal, she is no less the professional. Although she is fashionable it is always professional. She is also not above covering recess duty or cleaning off lunch tables. More than likely certain mothers are jealous. Another thing to be jealous of is her ability to spell demeanor and role model! I would love for my child to develop her back bone and drive to achieve a PhD.
The teachers I have met are good. I get annoyed at the constant demand for extra cash. My daughter seems to bring home advertisements to buy stuff or sell stuff every week. The bad thing about the school is the principal. Her dress is inappropriate at best and her dameaner is offensive She is a horrible roll model for my daughter. It concerns me that she even is allowed near my daughter. We can not wait to leave this district.
I LOVE this school! The staff is wonderful as is the administrative staff. Their focus on on each child and helping them be the best they can. We have always found the teachers responsive to our questions and concerns. Go Fox Hill!
My daughters are in 2nd grade and Kindergarten this year, and I couldn't ask for better teachers and office staff! If my children can't be with me, I couldn't ask for 2 better teachers for them to be with all day! I love Fox Hill!
My two eldest daughters attended k-5 at Fox Hill and my step-daughter will start 5th grade next year. We have found the school to be great in all categories. The teachers care about the kids and provide open communication about all aspects of the students life. My step-daughter experienced reading problems and the school did all they could to assist her. I would highly recommend this school and its staff. The only negative I would lament on was that the new principal this year was rather young and I would prefer and older more experienced principal and someone with children.
We moved to NKC last summer. Our daughter started Kindergarten at Fox Hill this fall and we absolutely love it. She has a fantastic teacher that is always willing to communicate with me in person or via email. The other kindergarten teachers all seem to know her as well and she has friends from all classes, not just her own. They spotted that she was learning at a higher level and tested her and she has been accepted into the academically gifted program, which she will start next year. The front office staff is very friendly. She attends Adventure Club after school and loves it! There are so many activities for her to choose from and all of the A/C staff know her by name. She loves going to school there!
We moved here five years ago, and my three sons have all gone to Fox Hill. I liked the majority of teachers, and felt the school was unusually warm and friendly. The staff seems to welcome parent involvement, and strive to be personable and kind to each child. I've been very pleased.
I have had a very positive experience with Fox Hill. My daughter has had two wonderful teachers and she loves to go to school because of that. They have challenged her when she has needed it. A lot of our friends are very happy with the school.
We moved to the area with understanding Foxhill was a VERY GOOD elementary school. From Day one, I experienced all kinds of problems. My child was a victim of bullying & was treated as if it was his fault he was being bullied. The reading program there is terrible. My child had reading troubles, but couldn't get into the program. It was stated to me 'We just don't have the room to add another child to the program because we don't have the money. Why not send them to Sylvans or hold them back a year.' In all I don't recommend this school district to anyone.
