The school directors did a professionalism sweep of the school. The head teachers now are Montessori trained. My son's teacher has a Bachelor's degree in education as well. They redid the playground. The food (organic and whole food) is of a superior caliber. At 2 1/2, my child is completely potty trained, speaks clearly in complex sentences, does daily work both individually and in groups, has the opportunity to work both fine and gross motor skills, and is building up his emotional and academic intelligence. As a bonus, the school offers dance, French, and piano classes. My child ADORES going to school. We've been here for over a year and have been amazing at the continued improvement and progress of this school. They're making it one of the top-tier early childhood education institutions in the KC area.

His teacher lets us know what he's working on in class and encourages us to back it up at home.

Develops grit: Strongly agree

This is my favorite part of the school! The two year olds put on their own clothes. If they struggle, the teacher kindly encourages them without stepping in to immediately do it for them. The child is then overjoyed when they can do things by themselves. I NEEDED a school to help my son learn persistence, grit, and determination. I KNOW he's getting that at this school.

Develops empathy: Strongly agree

I love the way the students are given many opportunities to learn empathy. They have class pets and a garden to tend to as a team. They work out their programs quickly and effectively. It's impressive.

What happened to the parent below happened to us too. The admin does not take complaints seriously.

Our child's teacher was not very good at discipline, classroom management, or making the Montessori work fun or appealing. My child referred to her as "yelly" because she would get frustrated with the class and take away privileges. She did not give appropriate consequences to individuals however and let my child be bullied. As a result my child was stressed out and/or bored the entire time. The director did not take our complaints seriously at all and would not let our child change classrooms at the beginning of the next year (they stay with the same teacher for 3 or 4 years). Three other parents left because of her as well. When my child started at a public school behavior and mood improved considerably. The public school teacher has more education and is a better teacher...Global's teachers have 2 year Montessori certificates or no college education at all.

GMA has been the best decision we've made for our kids. Our oldest started at age 2 and is currently in her 3rd year in Elementary. Our son is also there, age 3. Our daughter reads at a 5th grade level and she's not even 8 years old. They both LOVE school. It is apparent each and every day that they are learning and their minds are growing. What they do there is tremendous! I wish every child had the opportunity to learn and be nurtured like the kids at GMA. What a world that would be!!

Our oldest started at Global when she was three. She's 8 now and in the Elementary program. Our youngest just started this fall. We are so pleased with the school. The Montessori philosophy of education means that our girls are learning how to be learners - to acquire & synthesize information, not just memorizing facts. The teachers are great. Our daughters are excited about learning & loves school. The parent community is also great. We love Global!

As my daughter puts it, "I think it's great!" We have only been in the Elementary program, but there are also programs for the younger kids. Simply put, we love the school. Our kid is learning so much, and I'm impressed by how well she understands. She's not just repeating facts or memorizing terms. She understands the context, and she can apply what she knows. Ms Brandy is wonderful; the kids love her. The school is growing. We have a lower elementary (grades 1-3) right now, and plans are progressing for an upper elementary (grades 4-6) next year. This is a great time to join this school!
