Blue Ridge Christian School

I went to this school. I recommend that you do not send your child here. It does not properly prepare anyone for a life as an adult. Unless, of course, your desire is to have an adult child who remains insular throughout adulthood.

great school heritage with dedicated, loving and hard working faculty/staff committed to students while not receiving much in terms of compensation - but limited in vision, strategic direction, physical plant and greatly lacking in vital areas like guidance counseling - especially for a school that considers itself to have a college preparatory curriculum. There is no guidance counselor and no ACT (SAT) prep classes are provided for upper grade students.

Having worked at several other schools before coming to BRCS, I was amazed at the positive attitudes demonstrated by the students, teachers and administrators. It really is like a big family. Academically, it can be pretty demanding, but the faculty are always willing to provide extra help if needed. The sports teams have a strong tradition of being among KC's elite.

I am so very thankful for the education and training that my children received at BRCS. They are fine young people who are well-educated, well-grounded in the Word, and seeking Christ in all things. I know that they are successful in large part because of the influence of Godly teachers who sacrificially labor out of their love for God, His coming Kingdom, and young people (and those families) who desire Him above all else. God has used BRCS mightily for many years. May He continue to impact families through this ministry til Christ returns!

I'm a recent graduate and many of the changes that the school went through were sad but necessary. The current administration is working together with the parents, teachers, and students to create a positive and encouraging environment for to learn within.

Wow! An excellent school. The teachers are caring and great role models. My son was homeschooled through most of the education process. We enrolled him at Blue Ridge to expand his horizons. It has been wonderful to see him grow in his relationship with God along with his academic development. Great adminstrtion too.

We are so very pleased with BRCS. The spirit in the leadership, starting with the school board down is great! Teachers are a godly example to our children. We are so very thankful for the opportunity that our children have to attend BRCS. It's an amazing place to be! Our kids are Jr High and High School.

My children have attended both the South Campus (in Belton) and the Main Campus (at Blue Ridge). Every teacher that they have had has been wonderful! They truly care for their students and are willing to help them. I agree with the review below. Yes, there have been some significant changes in the past year regarding administration, but the spirit in the halls is great, and the families are truly a 'family' here at BRCS. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for quality Christian education.

We are very pleased with Blue Ridge Christian. Our children have attended this school since their pre-school years. The worst reviews from other parents have been in 2008, when the church-run school board decided to change leadership. I absolutely do not think too highly of this school board, but I do believe that the teaching staff is very good and the discipline at the school is good. If you want to take your child away from the chaos of public school and are willing to pay for private school, you should try Blue Ridge Christian School.

This school is great from k - 6th. Reaching 7th - 12th you loose several hours of prime learning ours. This is due to the school being to cheap to have sports after school. They choose to use normal school hours to play sports. If your student doesn't play sports they are forced to sit in study hall. If that is the case your child will loose 1 1/2 classes per day. Most the teachers are admirable, the administration is a dictatorship.

This is a church run school where the church has all the say in what happens at the school and the school parents have no say. There have been too many changes to the faculty that will directly effect every aspect of the school and won't be good. Stay away!

The teachers and faculty really care about each student and the quality Christian education they are getting is simply the best! It is the best Christian school in the Kansas City area! (We also attended BRCS and now our children attend there, too!)

This is an excellent school. I started my first child in preschool then took him out to attend another Kindergarten. I should have left him in! He came back in 1st grade and is now in 3rd grade. The teachers are great. The combined grades at the south campus works well. The teachers get to know the students, their learning styles, and work with that in their teaching. I will be sending all my children to this school.
