My child is entering the 11th grade and will not continue to attend Hogan for 2007/08 school year. Hogan is not a bad school. It's one of the more decent Charter schools in the inner city, but there is some improvement that is greatly needed. There is a need for better communication between the principal and staff, better school lunches, more parent participation, more funding for educational materials, more extracurricular activities other than sports and improvement needed for safety. Curriculum is not that bad and is challenging with plenty of homework. However some very good teachers left. My advice to any parent is to check out the school first before sending your child there.
