Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s): It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to another wonderful school year. A new school year is always exciting especially this year. As you know that BFMASS is a college prep public school, we are offering classes that creates a challenging atmosphere in school. Students are encouraged and prepared for a 4- year college of their choice. We are partnering with UMKC and offer Dual Credit courses. Another excellent plan is in progress about offering nursing classes in high school. There is an increasing trend in the number of students who are taking AP classes, SAT tutorials and dual credit courses each year. AP and SAT passing rates are also increasing. We want our parents to involve in every step while their child is going to college. Please show your support by motivating your child to attend these classes and maintain high grades. Instead of cursing to the darkness. Our main goal for seniors at BFMASS is to get accepted to a 4- year college of their choice. It is our intent to deliver the very best instructional program possible to our students. Our curriculum is aligned with state standards and offers a variety of enrichment opportunities. Most classrooms are equipped with technology used to enhance instruction. Staff members have spent time incorporating Smart boards, clickers, and document cameras into instruction, activities and assessments. Our work will continue next year in our quest to equip more classrooms. As our mission states, we are dedicated to prepare each student for higher learning in a safe, caring and collaborative atmosphere through a quality learner-centered educational program with a strong emphasis on math, science, engineering and technology. Our school has a reputation for innovation, dedication and excellence. We have a highly qualified and progressive teaching staff that is committed to providing our students with relevant and rigorous instruction. I can assure you that our staff will do their best for all students to be the best of their own potential. We have started Saturday Tutorials on 9/25/2010. Bus service is provided even Saturdays. Lunch is provided free to all participants. We as new administrators and all teachers are trying our best to help our young minds to let them reach their maximum potential. I agree about space limitations which we applied for PIAC bond to decrease physical limitations but disagree about teachers disqualifications. All teachers are highly qualified. Instead of demoralizing them support will be great to help our teachers and students. As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school as well and we welcome all parents' involvement. Your cooperation and involvement is greatly appreciated so that we can provide your child with the best education possible. Please take your time to talk with your children about their school rules and regulations. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their best. Contact with your child s teachers and other staff members to establish a successful home/school connection. And also remember that our staff may visit you at home to be able to listen to your concerns. I take this opportunity to thank one more time our staff and families for all the good efforts and hard work. And I wish that your children will have a great school year. Best wishes, Ismet Isik School Superintendent.

The school has already made progress, there is a basketball court, they are planning to built a complex in front of the school. Bus service is provided, They even give saturday tutoring free with breakfast, lunch, with saturday bus service. There is no such a school in KCMO School District. There some negativities like every other KCMO school district schools but the school makes progress. Teachers are great!. It is a typical urban city school where you can not omit the urban city problems. Parents are very helpful this year. I see them helping the teachers.
This is one of the worse school in kansas city, they give the kids sub standard work, there is no place for the kids to run ,play and have some fun.The parking lot is a junk yard, the kids can get hurt playing there,if this school was located in Bluesprings,OP,Leesummit they would have a state of the art ,top of the line facility, but they could get away with this in the inner city, because the parents are blind and cannot see and would not speak up. It's all about the almighty dollar and not about the education of our kids. The authorities need to look into this school and close it down, they are building the American dream on the backs of these inner city kids. Deplorable.
I don't like this school one bit! The discipline isn't good and there's a huge language barrier. I have attended this school for two years and it's only gotten worse. The quality of learning is poor and the teachers don't care and simply seem like the only reson they're here is for their measly paycheck.
