Because they offer so much to the students and everyone works together so well, including sports and music - understanding you can play sports (football, basketball, hockey) and still be in band, too.ceiv

As the principal puts it: "We love your kids." This shows in everything including academics, sports, music, theater and the rapport that the teachers have with the kids. Our kids and our family are proud to be part of the Kirkwood Pioneer Community!

My friend's kids are thriving there, having transferred from another distric when they bought their current home. The kids love the cirriculum, extra cirrucular activies, the teachers and the environment. It's great to listen to them talk about their school in such an enthusiatic and postive way.

It is a great school with a broad curriculum. Each teacher I have met displays enthusiasm for his/her subject as well as for his/her students.

Who ever gave principal leadership less than 5 stars is crazy! Dr Holley goes to every sporting event and every year gets to know every single student! He goes to the english classrooms and learns everyones name and what they do at KHS or on their free time. I love KHS! Great school. I have learned so much! Go Pioneers!

My daughter just graduated from KHS last June. She was on the school newspaper, which is one of the best, and is now a journalism major at Mizzou. I can't say anything bad about KHS. Whatever your child needs, they get. Whatever they want to do, they can.Dedicated teachers who love what they do, and a wide variety of extracurricular activities to choose from. It was a great experience for all 3 of my kids!

Kirkwood HS is a great balance of supporting develepment for all students and for allowing encouraging participation in sports and clubs and other activities. We moved to Kirkwood for the schools and so far are very happy with what we have experienced. The leadership is top notch and cares about the students more than anything. This is very good and somewhat unusual in public schools. The music and arts programs are exceptional. The athletics program is wonderful too. So much for the kids to do and participate in. They don't have time for mischief!
