Lawson is a small community but a primary focus in the community is the schools. We have lived here nearly 3 years and have been very pleased with the academic programs, the sport programs, and the level of parent involvement. Two of our children were formerly in private schools, so we were afraid they would find a public school cirriculum not as challenging, but that was not the case at all. The other concern we had was their ability to 'fit in' because they are part Asian and Lawson is prodominently a white, small town, farming community. We have been very pleased that the children have had no trouble adjusting to their new surroundings and have several friends. We love Lawson and the community - its a great place to raise a family!
I moved into the Lawson School District by accident. It was the best thing that ever happened to my kids. Lawson has great facilities, the parents are very involved in PTO, Booster clibs for both sports and band, they have a beautiful and modern PAC. The teachers and admistration care for each student and take an active role in each students education process. I'm happy to be a Lawson Cardnial parent. Building my house in the Lawson School District is the best mistake I ever made.
I am a student at LHS and I love going to school there. There are many students that complain about some of the policies and I have been guilty of complaining a time or two, then I realize that we are spoiled with so many things for example our amazing facilities. We have a great school and great parents to back us up in whatever it is we do. I am confident also that every one of my teachers would be more than willing to stay after school or come in early to help get me through a subject. These are just a few reasons why I love going to school at Lawson and why I am proud to say I am a Cardinal.
Lawson is a wonderful place to learn, it's just to bad there is no other parent involvement than fundraising or being on the board.
