Really Good Experience! My son had great teachers (and even one 1st year teacher who came mid-year who was fantastic) at this school. They offered some fun opportunities for parents to come and see what the kids were doing, and the PTO hosted neat events too. Caring staff & the new principal was a 2nd Grade teacher in the district as well!
We have never had a student attend this school. However, the new principle was our daughter's 2nd grade teach last year and she was absolutely wonderful. I can only assume the same level of care and excellence she extended to her class room she is delivering to the entire school at South Park. We do have several friends with kids at South Park and they all seem to love it. We have been partial to North Park but that's just because of where our kids go.
I am not impressed with any of the moberly schools. Te administration is messed up, some of the teachers and school workers are awesome, some are horrible, but overall the way the schools run are just not conducive to a good educational environment. They are too worried about getting kids who are behind up to par so the school looks good, and the kids who are ahead are the ones who are 'left behind' What about the 'no child left behind act' where do the smart/gifted kids fit in to that? They only allot enough finances for elementary gifted class to meet one time a week for maybe 2 hours. That just isn't enough. The gifted teacher is awesome, but she can only do what she is told.
