A great place... to get an absolutely mediocre education. I graduated from this school awhile back, but, still having connections to the community, I gather that it hasn't changed much. There are actually many good teachers, but the curriculum is not challenging at all. It would be a great school for remedial education, but for any student destined to get over a 25 on the ACT, the lack of challenge in the curriculum really just encourages them to be lazy. And that catches up to you in college. Besides that, this is the kind of place where you memorize what you need to for a test, and then it all flies out of your head. There is very little practical application of the material, so it doesn't stick with you. I can honestly say that most of what I truly *learned* during high school, I taught myself. Now, about rules- they are unevenly applied at MCR-IV. The administration, and some of the teachers, have serious favorites. If you are one of them, you have it made. If you are one of the kids labeled 'bad,' the administration almost seems to think of ways to get you in trouble. Anyway, I'll remind you that you should not "judge a book by its cover," even if it has a nice one.

MSIP is more than just cleaning. Macon Co R-IV has multiple activities for students to be involved in. The students have to show interest in the activity for it to be able to do well. The student has to make the school what they want it to be and they can make it to be something great. I was given a chance to attend a school for my senoir year but decided that Macon Co R-IV was a perfectly fine school and the staff was willing to prepare me well for college. There are plenty of teachers that are willing to help out extra with any student that needs it. Sports are not the only activity here. This year we added a FFA chapter. Our academic bowl team has been very successful in the past years and are looking to continue our success.

I have been there since 4 and love it I am in 8th grade.I love all the programs .My realationship w/ the school is awesome I love it. My parents and more support the school alot aspecailly homecoming, and basketball games,or candels with music. All of us are so small we are like family.we aren't 'big',and might not have alot of 'money'but that isn't important what is-is that we stick with one another no matter what.I couldn't be more proud of our staff, teahcers, and all the people that help out!

Leaving New Cambria last year to go to another school was the best decision I ever made. Now that I am in a better school I look back and see all the true things about a school. Wouldn't it be nice to walk in a building and feel welcome there? Well at New Cambria, I wasn't. Now, every day, it is a pleasure to be at the school and know that wherever you are you ARE welcome. New Cambria is one of the poorest school systems I know of. It may look good, but being a former student, I know the real truth about it!

I don't understand why this school says how great they are when they really aren't. If you compare them to neighboring schools, they are way behind, maybe they should think about spending some money on this and not just on paying for sports trips. Sports are good, but of the average coming from New Cambria, How many are actually going to ever make it past high school in sports? maybe 1 out of every 50? Compare that to fine arts, about 1 out of 5, but we still cut the fine arts nnd not sports? Especially when MSIP came around, and they had students cleaning for it...why do we hire Janitors? The superintendent can say allI have never been so disappointed in a school disterict in my life, and now I can say that I am very she wants about that our school passed Msip, but it wasn't the right way!
