Someone questioned why someone doesn't run against the present school board. The reason is, no one can win the popularity contest but the folks that are already there--in the good ole boys club. This school has many issues, most of which blew in with our current administration. It's really sad, because this could be a really awesome school.
My chld has one of the teachers that came to our school as a new young teacher and I have only one word to discribe her---Phenomenal!!! I am so glad that several years ago when she applied to teach at our school, that she was not over looked just because of her lack of experience.
Disappointed in the lack of administration. Also new hires keep coming into this school and lack teaching skills. Being friends with the principal is a plus if you need a job and don't have adequate training. Some of us are not going to play that game. I hope my job isn't next to be axed.
poor leadership and disappointing teachers that need to go back to college. Maybe flipping burgers is more their forte. Students have alcoholism issues and if partying is your thing, this school is for you.
Large turnover of staff and lack of discipline with troublesome students that interfere with the ability of teachers to teach classes. Definately NOT a school to go to if college is in your future as you will not be prepared for ACT or SAT tests which will cause repeat classes in the core requirements. School board too rigid on policy and rude to district residents who are not part of the good ole boys club. Avoid this small school at all costs. Also, if you have a child with learning disabilities or behavioral issues, they will not test them or even give you ample time to schedule for an IEP meeting to discuss. Twenty-four hours with contact by mail is not an acceptable time frame for notifying of a meeting for working parents.
Not a very good school with learning disabled. Very hard to get them help.
