My grandchildren started Truman at the beginning of this school year. I have been very impressed with all 3 of their teachers, three different grade levels. They have excelled in the litereracy and mathematicsuch faster than compared to their prior school. The teacher are there for the students academically socially, and morrally. I would reccommend this school to anyone. It is a great school in the district!

My child attended Truman for two years and will be back for 3rd grade. We are so very excited and cannot wait to be a part of this school once more. The wonderful teachers and staff make you feel so welcomed every day. I would recommend this school to anyone. I have been very satisfied with Truman.

At first when my son started Truman Elementary, I was impressed. But there was also a different principal there. Now the principal seems very impersonal; almost as if she needs to be teaching high school or college. There is a big bully problem going on at that school as well. The principal and teachers make a big deal out of not bulleying, but when it comes down to it, 99% of them, including the principal, do not do anything about it. Also, my children have come home plenty of times with a ton of homework (nightly), but are not quite sure on how to do it. The school seems to care about the kids learning when it comes to MAP testing, or some big test they want to cram down their throats so the school can get a good grade.

The teachers are very into wanting to kids to learn more ... not just what is required for the year .... 1 kid finished there and another just starting, couldn't be happier with how things are going! GREAT SACC program too!

Agree with letter of April 2. No teacher note about how child is doing prior to report card. kids are shocked to see grades they don't expect. Parents need material for tests to review before test. right now child says they can't bring material home to study for tests. Needs resolved

My child has been at Truman Elem. for now 4 years during this time I have had tremendous problems getting the teachers to communicate. They tend to tell the children what to tell parents and expect a 9 year old to do that. ha what a joke this school is..Teacher & Parent conference gets you nowhere. They do not seem to have the time to carry out what is agreed to in the meetings. Also never do I see any progress reports, books sent home, material to study prior to testing, etc., all I get as far as material from this school is FUND RAISING JUNK. The rating on this website on this school is extremely over rated. Nevertheless I have had 4 years of it and refuse to subject my child to this again next year.

My children no longer go to Truman, but my son went from K- first week of 3rd, and my daughter went from K-first week of 1st. The teachers and all staff (even the cooks, nurse, janitors, assistance, secretaries etc.)are amazing! They have a knack for taking a personal and knowledable interest in each child. They work with each childs strengeths and weaknesses to make sure they go great in school. The educators in this school (especially the after school care program) are some of the best people I have ever met. I felt at home at this school and would recommend it to any parent. I hated moving my kids out of this school and wish I could move back daily.
