My daughter attends this school, and I believe the school is wonderful. My children are and were enrolled in the Parents as teachers programs and I am also involved in the PTO. The school does need more volunteers and support from the community. We need parents to be activilty involved in thier childrens school, not just there sports.

I am the mother of 3 kids currently attending NEVC. All 3 of my kids are doing better at NEVC then they ever did at any of the other schools they attended. I would say they care more about education than sports unlike alot of other schools. I am proud to say that my children attend NEVC and would never think about moving them. Alot of the parents that move their children from NEVC only care about the sports and not their education. The teachers are great they care about the kids and want to see them do the best they can do and make sure they do. Keep up the good work NEVC!

My daughter attends NEVC. Both of my children have been involved with Parents as Teachers as well. NEVC, especially for a small school, offers many activities for the students. At the elementary level, there are the Science Club, American Boys and Girls Club, and the Elementary Student Council, as well as Pee-Wee sports. My daughters' teachers have been good communicators and seem to know and implement their curriculum. My daughter has excelled in her school work and enjoys school. There is an active PTO at the school. As to comments made that there is a lot of parent involvement, that is simply untrue. There is a need for volunteers and there are NONE. The PTO has only 4-5 regular attendees, and there are no 'room-parents'. The school encourages the comminty to be involved and I hope that in the future, more parents step up to make NEVC even better. GO KNIGHTS!

The children do not have much to work with, either in supplies, or surroundings, or programs, or even motivated teachers at times, sadly, but one thing we always had was parental involvement. Untill now. If you have a child in more than 1 class, you are not permitted to see the other child on those special party days. Also, if you have a younger child who is not yet in school, you are not allowed to bring that child, even though we all live at least 20 miles from the nearest daycare. That translates to an 80 mile round trip for a 1 hour party. Oh, and if you think your mom or sister can fill in at one of your kid's classrooms while you go to the other, think again. Only 'approved' parents allowed, no relatives.

To say the least the school is not one that I will continue to send my child. There are few opportunities and the curriculum in my opinion is weak. It is because of these reasons we chose to send our children to other school districts. There seems to be a lack of communication throughout the district and the administration is weak at least.
