The teachers and staff at Sunshine have a positive attitude that is contagious. We've enjoyed the Spanish class and other programs that come with the Camp Sunshine program.
Before the beginning of the new school year we moved out of Sunshine's school district. We moved into what is considered a very good school district. But, do to the small classrooms, faculty involvement with students, and parent and grandparent support that Sunshine has we put in a request to keep our child at Sunshine. I love the small neighborhood type connection that Sunshine offers in the middle of the city.
Great school! Everyone is so involved in the academics and safety of the students. I would recommend Sunshine Elementary to anyone looking for a great K-5 school in Springfield.
Sunshine School is a wonderful small school. The teachers at Sunshine are involved not only through the day, but also in the evenings whenever the school has performances, dances, and fairs. The parents in the community are equally involved in the school. Any time there is an activity at the school parking will be difficult do to all the parents and relatives who attend. I am so looking forward to the new program at Sunshine, the 'Camp Sunshine' and the idea that my child will be given the opportunity to advance her reading abilities through such areas as poetry as well as learning a foreign language. I will be looking to buy a home this year and will definitely try to stay in the Sunshine school district.
