Holman has been very good to our child. Principal (new in 2008; not the one referred to in older reviews) has been fantastic about helping solve problems, mediate disagreements and get things done. We have had a few teachers who did not seem motivated to inspire the kids, but simply went through the motions. However, overall we've had excited, enthusiastic, knowledgeable teachers; I'm amazed at how educated and intelligent - nearly overqualified - they are. The facility is old but updates our scheduled (bond issue just passed.) Many interesting elective classes and after-school activities. Teachers differentiate, finding a way to teach each child at her level and make a difference. I love that the student body is so racially diverse, and everyone is treated equally. My child's best friends happen to be different "colors", and I think that's awesome. Lots of emphasis on citizenship, responsibility, and developing into thoughtful, caring teens. Love it!
The teachers at Holman are the best there are! They truly go above and beyond to help and encourage their students. Many of the students come from low-income families and, like many schools across the country, the budget has to be spread thin. I personally know several teachers who dip into their personal budgets to help supply the classrooms. Any amount would surely be well deserved and well used.
This school has the best, most dedicated and loving teachers. When my daughters grandpa died (my dad) it was a great comfort to see so many of my daughters teachers there for her support.
This school is awesome! it's so fun and encourages students to learn more.
I was lead to belief that Holman was a very good school. Holman is very segragated & has no place for african american students there as much as they try to lead you to belief. The teachers are awesome, but the administration staff there are horrible. They are so busy putting your child through an army drill that the kids can't be chilren anymore. Again that school is no place for african american student's & the principles show it
Holmen Middle school is an excellent school. I have only had one incident in the three years I have gone, but it was, to be honest, my fault. Holmen, YOU ROCK!! :^D
I was worried when my child was going to have to switch schools, but was reassured by the wonderful teachers. My daughter loved her first day of school. This school has so many amazing programs that will help develop my child into well rounded citizen.
We after the year I had last year in 2003 with my 7 th grader I would not put my dog in this school as I had the Principal inform my 12 year old son that a Retaird student would try hard then he was and I did not feel that if that was his opinion of my son that he should have said it to him, I went to the school and spoke with the principal and he did not appolige for his actions, the only way that I got any responce was because I went to to the superindent and that is when I did receive an appolige for the prinicpal which by then I felt it was to late and the damage was already done, since then I have taken my Son out of Holman and moved to St Charles at Jefferson Middle school, Great Middle School.
