As a new teacher at Lutie, I must say I am extremely impressed at the students, the teachers, the staff, and the administration. I came from a much larger city, looking for that "small town" feel, but anticipating all the negatives that come with a rural setting. I must say, however, that I don't see most of those here. The teachers genuinely care about student performance. The students are just darn good young people who, unlike some of the kids I have met in other places, still respect their parents, their teachers, and, most of all, themselves. Does the administration care about the students? If how often they are breathing down my neck about student performance, objectives being met, goals being made and set, and student satisfaction is any indication, they are VERY concerned that students here get the best possible education.

This school just doesn't have it all together. There is so much chaos and there are some parents that run the show while others can't seem to get a say in anything. The administration of the school doesn't seem to have the experience or seem to be pleasing some while the students and teachers are being put on the back burner. My children have begged to move many times or go to another school based on bullying and issues that go along with that.

Lutie school is fast becomming a joke. They do not encourage students to climb higher and reach farther. They do offer honor and college courses, but offer no credit for these classes. My opion is they happily accept medicore as good enough! The staff used to seem happy, now the enviroment is lack luster. there is no school spirit, the students have no sense of pride in academics or athletics. If I had ANY other options, I'd take them

Lutie High School has many problems, but what school doesn't? The administration in the school has changed in the past year and the new admin is trying it's best to fix these problems. The school used to emphasize the lack of funds (tell the students), but like I said it is getting better. There is still the parental involvement factor. A few parents are involved and if you aren't part of their group (3) you and your views are just not welcome. The school makes it hard to help. The education is excellent at Lutie you can check out our state scores here on the website. My third child is going to graduate this year and I am very satisfied with the education they have received. I would not hesitate to send anymore of my children here. Extra curricular needs some tweaking but what doesn't. They are working on it.

Lutie Middle School and High School needs alot of improvement. From the Board of Education all the way down to it's teachers. Money is the most important thing to those people and the quality of education is quite low. Test scores can prove that. There are only certain parents who are allowed to be involved at the school others are snubbed. When the funds get low they cut athletics and some academics and then turn around and ask the community to support them by contributing the money to keep them open. Overall, I would feel better if this school would just close down and let my tax dollars go somewhere it would be appreciated.

Lutie is a school where money comes before the students. The state funding is so bad the school does not try to teach the students, it instead tries to stay open. I would recommend home schooling your children before sending them here.
