I am 15, I have been in Sacred Heart K-8 and I just graduated from Sacred Heart last year, and I am now going to the High School across the street form it. Sacred Heart's classes have made my classes in my high school a lot easier, like I am one of the only freshmen taking algebra 2 this year. About 3/4 of the lessons at the HS I have already learned at Sacred Heart over the years, so Sacred Heart has helped me a lot to prepare for high school. We have all kinds of activities and fun stuff at Sacred Heart. I am one of the only ones who went to Sacred Heart who still swing by for a visit, like every now and then I will bring in my snake for educational purposes at the school for the kids. It really is a good school to go to.
My children have attended Sacred Heart from K-8. The smaller atmosphere has its good points and bad. There are a lot of cliques and the 'popular' kids seem to be the ones chosen for everything. The administration is very inconsistent. Rules don't apply to all the children and staff for that matter. Most of the teachers are good, but there are a few bad 'eggs' and the problem with that is, your child can't switch classes for a different teacher. There seems to be more of a high turn around of the teaching staff. Sacred Hear does have good points too. My children have gotten a lot from the religion classes and from the sacraments. My children have great homework habits and learned a lot in the 8th grade math class.
My daughter attended Sacred Heart from 1st through 8th grade (graduate 2003). All of her teachers were caring and tried to ensure that their students achieved their greatest potentials. I was very pleased with her accademics and how well she was prepared for high school (attending St. Dominic High with mostly honors classes). Sacred Heart is in the process of trying to build facilities which will allow better extra- curricular activities for their children. At present their is no gymnasium for students to adequately learn sports such as volleyball or basketball, however the public school does try to accomidate our students with some practice times. Sacred Heart parents donate a lot of their time to further the extracurriclar activities for their students. I highly reccommend Sacred Heart.
