Valley Park Elementary School is a hidden jewel that is wedged between 2 large school district. The class sizes are small and the teachers are great,. Both of my students love their teachers! We also love our principals - Dr. Pearlman and Dr. Lewis! I am so happy that we moved to Valley Park.
I am a parent of a second grader at VP Elementary. We moved from Parkway School District and have been incredibly impressed with Valley Park Schools. The student to teacher ratio is wonderful. Our child enjoys going to school and has done very well. The administration, teachers, and staff are wonderful. They put the kids first and work hard help them learn in the best environment. The facilites at Valley Park are also great, with a new varsity gym having just been completed with a state of the art weight room. We love Valley Park!
Absolutely love this school. My daughter is in Kindergarden, she loves it and everyone at the school is so warm, it is a great school for kid to grow
We moved from the Parkway district to the VP district and I was blown away by the difference (in a good way). Almost all the teachers hold advanced degrees and everyone has an open door policy. They offer plenty of extracurricular events/activities. If I could change one thing I would add a foreign language to their curriculum. Other than that, nothing but praise from me.
Even with all the computer resources, the MAP scores are still far below the state average. Why? If you compare VP to other elementary schools in the area, VP is far below them. Why? Is it the leadership, teachers, parent involvement? I am a very concerned parent. VP has a very low student/teacher ratio which is a huge indicator of student success. Our scores need to be at least state average in communication and math. What is the problem?
I moved from the Parkway school district and was disappointed to find that we were now in Valley Park School. However, I was extremely impressed by what I saw. They seem to be making great strides in providing up to date teaching techniques including the EMINTS computer program where children learn to utilize the internet for learning purposes. My children's experiences w/ EMINTS was nothing short of spectacular! Some teachers seem to be better than others however, the office team cannot be beat. Both the Principal and Vice Principle are very caring & have an open door policy. There is great diversity in the school that the staff embraces. They have great after school programs and activity buses that take the kids home afterwards (great for working parents!). They've added classrooms, early childhood development and a new gym in just the two yrs we've been there.
