About the Tests
In 2008-2009 Wyoming administered the Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students (PAWS) in reading, writing and math to
students in grades 3 through 8 and 11, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 11.
PAWS tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each
grade by the state of Wyoming.
The goal is for all students score at or above the proficient level.
