I have two children who have both attended Bigfork Schools since kindergarten. I feel the small community has offered them a fabulous education, and know that both kids are known by name by the majority of the staff of both the elementary, middle and high school. My daughter is a senior and graduating this year, and has been accepted to a top private school with an excellent scholarship, and my son is a sophomore. The schools offer both excellent educational opportunities, as well as numerous extra-curricular activities. My children have both participated in soccer and basketball, and very much enjoyed doing so. The school is also a leader in offering online educational programs that greatly broaden the course offerings for such a small school district.
This school is well kept, most of the teachers connect well with the kids and the communication home is very good. The only issue is what most schools have at this grade, bullying. This must be addressed more than it has been.
This is a quality school; I mean that. It is in a safe place, and has a lot of parent involvement. It feels like a community. The academics are also great. The kids in this school, from what Iv'e noticed are great writers and very talented in the arts and theater like DI. (destination Imagination) But my favorite thing aboiu this school is the people. The teachers (especially in the junior high) are outstanding. Students get thier questions answered and are well taught. The kids in this school are just pleasent and welcoming to new students and are really just a great group of kids.
