The lack of a regular, certified art teacher in this school is shameful. The students thrive in a 4 day summer art camp, thirsty for getting their hands on arts supplies and creating beautiful art. They finally got a music teacher about 3 years ago, after letting a wonderful teacher go who had been there many years. The lack of music in the school was missed by the community and students. I wish they would get the fine arts back on track. They don't miss a beat when it comes to sports though. In fact, many believe they over emphasize it. But many in the community live for it. I think there is a severe imbalance between the arts and sports. They also have a Principal that is respected by neither students or adults. They do have some very good academic teachers however.
